I operate a home office with a Laptop, Printer and MCF-240C interconnected. I have faxability (1 line, 2 numbers) and broadband internet access. Prior to moving the office around I automatically received faxes with this configuration - no problem. Now, incoming faxes are identified (diff ring tone), 3 rings latter ring tone stops, MCF-240C picks up the connection displaying 'Receiving'. After several seconds I hear a click, display resumes to Date/Time etc, fax does not print... nor is it stored. I have tried every concievable setting without fail. I somewhat recall the setting 'used to operate' under MNL, but I cannot seem to programme it correctly. Can you step me through the process please, desperate!
My Brother MFC-8840D doesn't receive or send faxes. When I fax I hear it dialing out and then hear it beeping but it doesn't send the fax. I know the phone line works just fine and it use to work. One day it just stopped. Can some assist me with a solution.
We've shifted offices, gone from three lines down to two. I've lost the manual. One has faxability on it. It is also a step down line. At present it has the broadband on the same line. We've shifted offices, gone from three lines down to two. I've lost the manual. One has faxability on it. It is also a step down line. The Ring Delay sets the number of times the

There are 2 ports on the rear, 1 for the incomming phone line, and one to plug in a telephone handset (passthrough)
if the telephone line is plugged into the wrong port, the fax machine is unable to dial properly,
So try plugging into the other port on the back, it's just next to the other port
hope this helps
