No Voice Response on My Magellan GPS System

you say the voice directions are not working, but does the voice work at all..like when you scroll back through the screens, it should say back ect ect. if the voice does not work at all, ck the speaker icon on the main map screen to see if its muted, indicated by a slash through the icon..if it is not on mute, go to the system folder the to the sound tab go in there and make sure its not muted in there, if it is, unmute it and restart the gps..its a common problem on these magellan if the battery is run to low or completly dead which causes more problems. if all else fails, do a hard reset

you need to call 1-800-707-9971
they will give you more information about the code.

What's the symptoms? Is the screen cracked? Does it not power on anymore? I'll need further information prior to a response or any response that could possibly fixya.

it is not a scam .then why did you bought it ,i did on my magellan maestro 4000 the firmware update and map but this unit does not come with turn by turn like the old roadmate700 which gave the option to turn on or off turn by turn voice.but what can you do that is life. regardless you must go to magellan website and do all the Upgrades and Maps Updates

Yes the Magella Maestro 4250 GPS receiver does have voice recognition built-in and it can be controlled using voice commands.

Magellan has produced a guide to using the voice control feature which is available on their website. To activate the voice control you say the word "Magellan" while viewing the menu screen or a map screen. Then you can speak one of the many commands available for the unit.

HARD RESET THE UNIT ---PRESS AND HOLD THE POWRE BUTTONS AND THEN PRESS THE RESET BUTTON.

if your lucky, all it will need is a reset start the unit and using apaper clip, insert it in the small hole on the side. if that fails, try2.62 3.61 update using the Magellan link below...follow the updatedirections to the letter..this update is huge (1.75GB) and takes about45 minutes to install so be patient.you must register your unit on the magellan site to download the update.
