I have no picture, but I do have sound. This happened when it was just a few months old and a help line had me reset it with the remote and it worked, thats not the case this time around. And the DVD player wont play you can hear it inside almost as if it isnt getting locked in or skipping, this has been an issue with this tv since it was about 6 months old so i just bought a dvd player and plugged it in

No new video card required. I just reset the television by holding the on/off button for five seconds (yellow light on front panel blinks repeatedly). I then cycled power using the remote control and my picture came back. Worked for me. Hope it works for you.
Does your set have a reset button on it? It sounds like we had the same problem from the beginning. In fact, we have bought and exchanged the tv 3 times because we thought maybe we just had a lemon. The picture would freeze and no buttons would fix it. We read in the owners manual about the reset button -- a tiny hole in the top of the power button on the right side of the tv. You can use the end of a paper clip and stick it in the hole to reset the tv. The tv powered off and then the remote and all the other buttons worked. Ours is still in the warranty but for the first month, it seemed like this happened at least 5 or 6 times. Haven't decided if we want to try to exchange it again or just live with it. Other than this, we love it!
i have sound but no picture, or i have sound and a picture for a few minutes then it either go to a solid blue screen or pink and blue lines. this tv is only 7 months old
Vertical output chip has some ring cracks on leads (cold solder joints). Set is shutting brightness off to protect5 it's crts from burning a black streak across them.
This is the 3rd LG tv to appear to have problems today on this site.
If it's only a couple of months old, i don't know about Australia, but in the UK the retailer must replace the set, but after 3 months, you have to get your local LG service centre to collect it, and in past experience, they can't seem to find a fault after holding on to it for weeks and not returning e mails or calls.
