Unable to sync Magnavox DVD player/recorder to new Vizio TV

I have newVizio 1280/360 TV. Model # SV320XVT and trying to sync my Magnavox Digital video disc recorder & video cassette recorder with digital tuner model # ZV450MW8A. I cannot play any movies on my new TV because cannot find the correct component code. Tried using all listed in the magnavox user manual and the Vizio user manual. Tried everything. Does anyone know anything about playing DVD movies on the Vizio?

I just called Magnavox about a similar DVD/VCR combo and they said you can't use any other remote with those for some reason.

SOURCE: HOW DO I CONNECT MAGNAVOX DVD/ VCR TO VIZIO FLAT SCREEN

Is simply. get the audio/vido cables and look on the back of the TV and connect from the audio video outputs from the combo to the audio video inputs on the tv. remember the colors of the terminals and connect them that matches the red, white (audio) and the yellow (video). Using the remote locate the button "input" or "source", and select video 1 or 2, depending where you connected it.

SOURCE: I just bought a Magnavox ZV450MW8A DVD/VCR

Yes, you can, I have this unit and have actually copied a dvd to a vhs and then copied back to a dvd as I wanted a dvd copy to give a friend. The directions in the book are really quite simple. They tell you how to set the vhs to the spot where you want to start copying, etc.

I have not yet tried copying my family vhs tapes, but don't see a problem, just a big project. Good luck.

Why does the picture from my vcr vibrate on my new vizio smart TV

Because the Vizio TV isn't capable of dealing with the unstable sync from a VCR.

There's no real solution to this from a TV manufacturer's perspective. In the era of flatscreen TVs they're all designed for the nice stable synce from DVD players, TV broadcasts, TiVos and PVRs, games consoles etc. VCRs are yesterdays technology.

You can spend some money on an external Frame Store Sync Stabilizer, but it will cost quite a bit (more than a DVD Recorder, for example). So it might be better to have those tapes transferred to disc either professionally or by buying a used DVD recorder and doing it at home.

I PURCHASED A MAGNAVOX Z V 427MG9 A VHS DVD RECORDER.I HAVE A NEW VIZIO VW26L HDTV. HOW DO I CONNECT THEM? I HAVE ALREADY CONNECTED A HDMI CABLE TO IT BUT DON'T KNOW TO SET IT UP. DO I NEED ANY OTHER...

HDMI cables are actually wonderfully simple to connect. Once you have connected one end to the TV and one end to the DVD player, you will simply need to change your input channel using your TV's remote. Find a Input or Video source button and press it until the screen says HDMI. Now your TV may have several HDMI ports so you may have to try a couple HDMI channels before you find the right one.

Hope that helps!

Vcr/dvd combo recording problems

I would need your exact model # to get very specific, but in general:
The "External tuner" will need to come from your TV or a cable/sat box, generally. If your TV has a Video OUT or a Monitor OUT (most television don't), you can hook a yellow AV/RCA video cable from the TV to the Magnavox. You will also need to hook a red/white audio cable from the Audio OUT of your TV to the Magnavox.

Your TV probably doesn't have a Video OUT, so you will need to buy a box. A digital cable box for your cable service would be the best investment. Alternatively, if you can find a digital-to-analog converter box (but these are iffy). Once you have one of these box types, you will need to hook a red, white, and yellow AV/RCA cable from the video/audio OUT of the box to an available video/audio in on your television.

Once your connections are correct, the general rule with tuner-less recorders is: If you can see the channel that you want to record on the television screen, then you will be able to record it.

One final note about Feb 17, 2009: Thanks to Congress, the digital transition date was moved to June 12, 2009 - many areas have already switched, but there is at least a chance that you are in an area that hasn't switched yet.

Let me know the exact model # of your television, and I can tell you if it has a video/monitor out - or, let me know what type of box you decide to buy.

Good luck!

DVD/VCR Combo

your model is "tuner free" that means it does not have the RF screw in connector. Buy one that has a tuner, preferably both ATSC(USA digital) and NTSC(USA analog)

Viewing a recorded DVD+R on PC

I am assuming you have an actual dvd drive of some sort installed in your computer. The problem you may be having is a missing codec. This problem can be solved by downloading a VLC player which has most needed codecs pre installed. This program is freeware and can be easily found online. I hope this helps. Good Luck!
