same problem here but i think; its a hardware problem or maybe scanner but if u face error 2:4 thats i confirm problem with connecter cable from scanner into motheboard...just check cable connecter scanner connect properly if doesnt work.......send to canon service center
It is problem any hardware is not work properly. If you are a technician please service your printer properly.Clean all surface, blowing it.when you show E2 press black or color key
The scanner lock switch may be in the locked position. Lift the cover and check the slide switch located on the top front left. If this is not the problem, you will have to have a service center look at the problem.
The E5 error is indeed an error regarding the print cartridges. Are you using original Canon ink. If not then the brand you are using may not be compatible. I would do an eeprom reset and see if that helps. Service manual here, will show you how:
Hello, The error 5010 refers to a scanner issue, make sure all the connectors are seated and all flat cables running to the scanner unit are firmly seated, turn printer back on and the error should clear. I hope this helps.
Try this... it worked on my MP450... Turn the printer on and open the lid, it shows the cartridges. Now let the cartridges settle to the left. You can notice that the cartridges run on a metal belt. It might be dirty, mine showed a black stripe on it. Take a cloth, a cleenex will be fine and clean it up. Move the cartridges to the right (force them with your hand) and clean the part of the belt left behind them. Now turn it off, close it up and turn it back on. It should work
printer will not operate from computer functions.
