ricoh 1502... just enter to sp mode (yellow, 1,0,7, push 'c' button 5sec.).... after entering sp mode, switch off & on the machine; if not cleard sc541,,, check thermistors for open/short circuited before going to changing powr supply board 7 finelly BICU (mothr board)
Resetting a machine may cause damage on the costly internal parts inside. The cpu has an ability to detect error codes and what type of error it is on the machine but resetting it will only "FORGET" what has been currently detected but still the problem exists on the machine even it is successfully done. If you will continously use the machine that has been resetted, therefore a possible simple problem can cost serious damage. Just a reminder before resetting. Thanks for using Fixya.
SC541 is a fuser heat failure. This means the fuser, which heats up and fuses the toner onto the paper, is not heating properly. Most of the time on Ricoh's this is caused by failure of the thermistor(s) which are responsible for reading the temperature of the fuser unit.
I would look in your local phonebook's yellow pages under copier service/supplies. Either find an independent servicer, such as someone listed as "services all makes and models" or look for a Ricoh, Gestetner or Savin dealer. The Gestetner and Savin makes are exactly the same as Ricoh so they may be able to help.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.
Depending on the model, you may just have to enter service mode, and power off/on. For older models you will have to enter service mode, and then run SP5-810, then power off/on. That is assuming that the fuser problem has been repaired prior to running the codes.
First try entering into SP mode by pressing:
Clear button>1 0 7> and press and hold the Stop button for 3 secs. Then switch off and on the copier.
If SC 541 code is still there, check the following in the fuser unit:
