I have a brother MFC-9440cn printer. The printer is telling me to load paper in the MP load. I need to use the tray instead of the MP load. How do I go about doing this?

When you ready to print your computer.please go to print properties setting paper source default or tray 1 or MP.MP mean multi pass tray.I mean front paper loading tray.

not sure if your on copy mode or print mode ..close the MP tray door....turn off then on go to general setup select tray 1. not sure if your on copu mode or print the machine wants you to add paper to the tray that needs it. if you add paper dowes it still say"add paper" .if this is the case then the tray sensor is 1)broke2) pushed out of the way folded3) tray feed roller are not installed correctly no allowing sensor ..make sure your printer settings(properties) are set the that tray.
Sensor that detects paper needs to be replaced. Same thing happened to my machine and I had to take it in to a Brother repair company. 1 hour service call
HiTry doing the following....remove all paper.Go to you're control panel..click on scanners and printers.. Right click on you're printer and go to properties, there will be an option to do a maintenance check on you're printer....Clean nozzles, head and do an alignment check..Once this is done print a test page...Hope this with helpRegards
make sure the tray is set for letter size, many times the handle moves and the settings on the tray change, so the paper moves back to the settings of legal paper, so when the printer tries to load paper, it cant.
Have you gone into the printer properties and changed the feed tray? If not to do this go to file and then print ( if hit the print button on the toolbar it will just print), beside the printer model there is a properties button, in there near the bottom you can change which tray you want the paper to feed from. Hope this helps.
