When i turn tv on green power light comes on couple of seconds later red light starts blinking numder of times it blinks is 8. when I turn power on or off I hear a click...all I tried was unplugging it for a couple of hours than plug it back in ...still no picture or sound.....hope u can help me..thanks

I went to servicemanuals.net and downloaded the complete service manual for this TV and found that 8 blinks means you need to check out the Panasonic-txnss1rltu-ss-board which I have had to replace once before on this set. I have found further that this item is prone to short life as a result of inadequate ventilation problems. Anyway, the part I need was easy enough to find in the service manual and ShopJimmy has it for about $43. So my problem is solved now.

Wath does this error code mean or wath problem it signify may be i can fix it if i know the code.

The red LED blinking 8 times is an error code for the service technician. There is nothing you, the consumer , can do to remedy this problem. Your set will have to be brought in to an authorized Sony repair center.
