Some XP programs incompatable with Vista; you may have to upgrade UFT...had this prob with a lot of my high $ programs....loaded XP on 2nd HDD, and use it for non-Vista compatable programs.
You should be able to use the drivers in program compatibility wizard, set it for XP. If you are experiencing problems with a program that worked correctly on an
earlier version of Windows, this wizard helps you select and test compatibility
settings that may fix those problems. You can find this by clicking on 'start' -> 'all programs' -> 'accessories' -> 'program compatibility wizard' This is an assumption that you have vista set as windows classic mode. You can set this by right clicking on the start buttion and selecting properties and select the radio button for classic start menu. Regards!
perform the following: type the following three lines in to the Command window:
%SystemDrive% cd "%ProgramFiles%\TomTom HOME 2" xulrunner\HOMERuntime.exe -app xul\application.ini
To avoid having to type these lines every time you start HOME:
Right-click your desktop and choose New > Text Document - enter the commands provided above and then save the file as RunTTH.bat copy this file to the TomTom HOME 2 folder in C:\Program Files (you will require Administrator rights to do this) in the Start menu, right click on the TomTom HOME 2 icon. select Properties in Target, change "C:\Program Files\TomTom HOME 2\TomTomHOME.exe" to "C:\Program Files\TomTom HOME 2\RunTTH.bat”
The icon will change and HOME 2 should now run normally on your PC. Please note that links like "Send to TomTom device" or "Add to TomTom" won't work because they rely on TomTomHOME.exe (which this workaround by-passes). A full fix for this error will be implemented in a future HOME update.
NOTE: for 64 bit Vista change the second line of code to:
check to see whether secondary login service is disabled via services.msc - if it is set it to manual and start it. Problems sould go away - if not unistall and reinstall tomtomHome with this service started.
For all TomTom GO, ONE, XL, RIDER and NAVIGATOR 7 devices, the system requirements for Windows are: Windows 2000, XP of Vista (newest servicepacks required)
Pentium III or higher
256 MB RAM, 512 required
Internet connection (Broadband - DSL/cable/LAN) for downloading updates, maps or services
The TomTom HOME software is a 20MB download requiring 50MB of disk space when installed
