On your PC, you'll need to go into the Control Panel --> Hardware & Sound --> Sound (Windows 7) and click on "Playback". Here, you'll need to change the sound settings to reflect the audio to be handled by the video card / audio chipset / HDMI jack on the motherboard. You should also check for other settings such as Digital Output that are usually associated with and HDMI jack on the card and not an analog jack.
As it is now (or is likely to be the case anyway) the picture is being handled by the HDMI on the video card / motherboard; but the audio is still coming from the the speaker jack(s) on the motherboard or audio card. Making the changes above will redirect the audio from the speaker jack(s) to the HDMI jack instead.
If your Tv has this many HDMI ports it will have a menu to access each one separate. Go to your Tv's settings menu and look for your HDMI ports to use.
Does the HDMI output on the PS3 have to be turned on first in its settings? Make sure the settings on the PS3 are at a minimum of 720p as if it is set to 480i the TV probably wont notice anything connected to HDMI.
The parts required for this are available but difficult to find. The overall repair is not that difficult for anyone that has fixed these before. You'll spend more time getting to the jack than replacing it. Try calling Samsung parts and give them the model as well as the circuit designation of the jack. This designation will be written on the PC board. For less than $5 you should be able to get the jack. Ask a local service shop to install for you and you are off and running.
try to right click the desktop and choose graphics options, you will have to select the correct output for your setup. i.e. laptop to monitor, etc etc see if that works,...sounds like you have a connection, you will have to play with these settings until it pops up. worked with a similar scenario, sometimes you have to do stufff twice and it works on the second time not the first, electronics are weird.
keep changing the settings in the graphics options until it comes up the way you want it.
If your using a HD converter box, there is usually a blink when switching from an HD channel to a non HD channel. It is just adjusting from different pictures modes such as changing from a 480i channel/show to a 1080i channel. If this is the case, its perfectly normal.
