When I have try to call up PC setting mode on the menu button of the tv handset, following the owners instruction book. It does not stay on the sceen long enough to do anything. The screen goes blank after 1 or 2 seconds. Even if I manage to move to an option in the pc setup the screen goes blank.
Also the tv instruction book recommends 1360 x 768 resolution. Unfortunately my laptop does not have this setting is has 1024 x 768 does this mean I cannot connect to the tv?
No u still can connect to tv. And about the screen going blank, try being fast enough else there should be an option for keeping the screen alive for some more seconds. I am sure u will get it done.!!!
Thankyou
Hi it shouldnt matter to much its just a guide line just might mean you get a less clearer picture if you was watching say a dvd but your telly should still let you acess this menu have you tried acessing the menu without the laptop plugged into it let me know ok
Now you have acessed the menu without it closing has this now given you acess to using you laptop let me know if your still having problems and i can assist you further but you should find you have no problems now ok let me know though ok
Hi have you solved your problem if not let me know and i can assist you further if the problem is solved can you rate the sollution as fixya as alot of users dont rate the sollution and it just piles up in our ratings list you probably solved the problem by now anyway if not give us a shout and i help you further ok
Hi this could be the problem with the resolution can you acess the controll panel the select display under advanced can you now adjust the resolution and see if this makes any differance.
As im not sure exactly of your tv menu for pc setting i dont know what settings you can change uder this.
If you could list the setings you can change for me ill look and see what you can change to correct the problem your having ok let me know then i can assist you further
Hi you could try pulling the lead out and putting it back in and see if it works by resetting the setting when you plug it back in if not can you give me about 3hrs cus im going out shopping with family but will be back then i will not forget you but is it ok you give me a couple of hours to finish shopping hope this is not a problem speak again soon ill also ask my mate who has his hooked upto the telly and just have a look at his settings for you ill let you know the settings when i get back.
Check leads are fitted properly remove and refit this sometimes resets the setting and usually corrects itself.
Also on the telly control is their a button you can press like the av button that will give you the correct setting ie like av1 for dvd av2 for cable.
If you are on the wrong channel the picture will be out of line so check this for me as well have a play around with the channels see if it changes anything let me know and ill let you know what i find out for you ok but will be couple of hours ok sorry but i will resolve your problem when get back ok.
You might have solved it by then anyway ok thanks

Hi - I have managed to solve my initial problem, many thanks for your help. To cut it short the problem was my pc monitor settings would not activate dual monitors until suddenly a popup screen asked me if I wanted to activate dual screens and everything fell into place then. My problem now is my tv screen shows a fantastic view of Packard Bell desktop. However by chance I noticed my curser would only appear on the tv if it moved it off the pc screen to the right. To test this I can move my Windows pages right over to the right of the pc screen and it just about shows up on the left hand side of the tv screen. Presumably there is another setting I cannot find to sync the two screens.
Sorry about the delay but it has taken me some time to get to this point.
You will certainly have my acceptance rating.
Thanks. Patricia.
The user manual for the tv says to choose resolution of 1360x768 but my laptop only goes up to 1024x768. When I drag over the windows pages there does not seem to be any definition problem. The tv's pc setup gives options for fine and course tuning (I have used the auto turning function)of picture quality, moving up down or side to side of the picture. This only fine tunes centralisation and is very small movement, auto tuning and reset to factory settings. On the advanced tab of the pc display settings I have reduced the picture size from 96 to 46 but this only makes the image size smaller it doesn't sync the images.
Many thanks, Patricia
Hi
Thanks for all your help. I too have to go out and will be out for the evening (its 4.30pm here). I will pick up again tomorrow morning and feed back to you how I get on.
Talk to you tomorrow if that's ok.

Hi
I have spent the a good part of this morning getting to grips with my problem and I believe I have cracked it. It appears in dual monitor mode in Windows XP one doubles the monitor size by placing two monitors side by side. I can manage the Windows pages from the laptop and video's etc played in full screen on the tv, or I can have one window on the laptop and a different window on the tv screen (working with two monitors). Now I have got my head round it I am a 'happy bunnie'.
Many thanks for all your help, another problem solved and I will give my rating for you.
Good luck for the future.
Oh! I am in your part of the world, southern spain - an expat.
Thank you for you suggestion. My problem turned out to be a need to configure Windows to accept there was a second monitor. Once that was done there was no problem with pc setup on the tv.
