ZOOM ERROR An error message "ZOOM ERROR" is displayed when switched on . Their is an sound from the zoom gears . unable to Zoom in or Out. It was drop down from 3ft height. I think an error with the cambarrel, shutter.... Any solutions or the cost of this spares.????

    This camera has NOT been dropped. All we have done is install fresh batteries.

    I also dropped my Olympus SP-550 UZ digital camera from a height of about 3 feet. I put fresh batteries in, but I am still getting the Zoom Error. The lens does extend out a bit, but then beeps, errors, goes back in, and shuts down. Any suggestions?

Zoom error usually comes from lens off track or bent.. definitely needs repair

the spare parts won't be so much, if you try and fix it yourself, you will save a ton of money otherwise it could be around $100 to send it in and get it fixed. You can start finding the problem by opening the screws on the bottom/back of the camera and find what gears are jammed and won't zoom. or I can get you a number to call to send it in, thanks

Fix zoom error
The lens probably has some dirt or pocket fuzz caught in it. Try spraying around it with a can of compressed air when it is extended. Also spray the lens.

I dropped it and it says zoom error
Sounds like the power zoom assembly (motor, gears, etc), has jammed due to the drop. That and possible electronic problems on the controller board or possibly the zoom switch itself suffered damage in the drop also. Try working the zoom switch rapidly , back and forth a few times and see if it frees up. May be a candidate for the repair shop. Sorry for your accident.

Zooming in.
Your camera jumped out of gear. Open the front metal cover and disassemble all arm working with the main motor gear and try to reposition the red dot on the big gear with the small gear side by side. Presto now your camera is aligned. Place all arms back in order to your new alignment.you got your self a working camera. D: 3403 3404 mean error = some thing is block your lense and stopping the motored gear. For future referance don't drop the camera agian, next time it might be a expensive fix next time around.

Finepix A400
If the "!ZOOM ERROR" message is displayed on the digital camera, switch the camera off and on again 2 or 3 times.
If this does not clear the error, take the camera to your nearest FUJIFILM Service Station for testing and repairs. Problem may caused by lens zooming gears stuck.

Fuji Finepix Z1 Zoom Error
I saw another post in this forum were someone suggest banging it on a table a couple times, not to hard that you'd dent it but a good enough bang. Worked like a charm! I tried the trigger and slide method but while the error message went away the zoom wouldn't focus. Try banging it, it sounds bad but it worked wonders!

Zoom lens jammed
this is a protection mechanism against further damage when the zoom/lens mechanism is obstructed. It's a very delicate mechanism, and it's not easy or cheap to fix. The gears probably got misaligned or broken when you dropped the camera. You should get a repair estimate, and only if you decide you'd rather trash it try opening it up again. Good luck
