if the standby light blinks 6 times it has a bad backlite board (the most common with that set) other than that i will need to know how many times in a row it blinks. thanks....techman
sorry. Hope you still have a waranty. This is not an uncommon problem with the sony's. 99% chance that the panel went out. Could also be a balance board issue, but usually not. Call Sony for an authorized repair center
If it does not give a picture at all not even for a moment, i would suspect a bad power supply, the circuit has quite a few components and either one of those could be giving you trouble.
If the Standby light is blinking then there it seems that there is an internal malfunction occurred in the TV. I will forward a link to a page where you can get more information and troubleshooting steps which should resolve the issue.
This sounds like a power source problem! (faulty transformer) I would pack it up and take it back for a new one!
