I need to fix the handle of a hoover washing machine hnf3157.I have the kit but can work out what way round the spring goes. Please help. Thank you Silvia

The hook faces away from the center of the door.
The handle goes around that.
The spring goes around both, on the inside of the hook, facing the center of the door.

For most front-loaders: Lubricate the slot which fits over the tub with washing-up fluid.
Starting at the top, press the seal so the flange of the tub enters the
slot on the seal. Work your way round the using thumbs to force the slot
on the tub flange. When slot is on the flange all way round, fit the
spring which holds it on. The spring goes into a slot on the outside of
the seal. This is quite difficult and you may need another pair of
hands.Fit the outside of the seal to the cabinet - this
is easy and fit the plastic clamping ring. Test for leaks before
using. Use rinse to test as the water level is higher. (There is no glue anywhere, only clamps,etc)
ok does that mean u know how to bypass lid switch so u can see the agitator and bowl while it is cycle? normally when the lid is lifted the machine stops.sorry to ask u this question but it will help in fixing your unit.please reply 4 more help.
I am not a repair professional. I am just a 78 year old man who has been making his own repairs for about 50 years. Therefore the washer ID doesn't mean
anything to me. It's been about 55 years since I had experience with front load washers. However I can refer you to www.applianceaid.com where they have very good and complete trouble shooting and repair information on front loaders. I think you'll find what you need there. if you mean the little what i call ****** that goes inside the machine then on most common machines it points to the right or towards the side of machine.
the spring will go so that it pushes the latch part in towards the outside edge of the door. the pin goes through the door frame, then through the spring's 'holes', through the latch, and back into the frame of the door. the spring ends should sit in a couple of grooves in the door part which may be marked/scratched by the previous one.
sounds like a spring which keeps the tub centred is broken. Could also be a worn bearing. this needs specialised tools to get the problem fixed, especially to replace the bearing. contact a repair-person.
