Turn the camera on. Press the display button (second button down right next to the LCD (Labeled LCD/info) to turn on the LCD. Make sure you are not in review mode. Here is a link I am sure you will find helpful (its what I used to solve this problem)

Nothing or black screen shows up when pic is taken

The problem is with the software in the camera! So take your camera to the nearby service center and do a format of your camera! That will fix your problem. Also check whether there is any problem in ur LCD screen!

LCD Screen remains black

Hi!
Have you tried pushing the DISP button while taking pictures? It's on the right from the LCD.

Cannot take pictures thru lcd screen on d40x DSLR

The D40x is not capable of Liveview - i.e. looking at the LCD to take a picture. You are mistaken.
If you want Liveview, you need to buy the D3 or D300 cameras. The D40x is an entry-level camera.

My screen is showing like multicolors & it still takes pics

Hi There, If your screen still lights up, sounds like the LCD Panel is cracked.

Reviewing pics

Check the memory card, if you can. A card dock or similar on your PC or laptop. Try reformatting it if nothing is on it. Try another card. The cards can go bad.
This is assuming that the camera is trying to record images when you think you are taking them. I also assume you see an image in the LCD on your camera when you are composing before shooting and the camera acts like it is taking a picture. Do you usually have the ability to review what you just shot and it immediately shows up on the screen? Have you used your flash when this non-recording is taking place? Does it flash?
More info would be helpful.

Kodak CX7330. turns on but LCD screen is black and won't take a pic

It sounds like a bad connection on the ribbon cable of the LCD screen to the camera's motherboard. The fact that when you physically move the camera around and you can get the screen to then work, tells me something is loose inside.

Good luck!

NO LCD display when shooting with brand new D40 ><

Most DSLRs (like the Nikon D50) don't have live view. In other words, in order to see the picture you must take it first.

About the auto review off, go to menu, "pencil" submenu, and the option is there (scroll until you see it)

With respect, you should read the manual. It's very comprehensive and needed. :)
