I bought a used Velodyne DPS-12 subwoofer. It is not working. The indicator lights are alright. But it is only producing continuous noise. I am not sure if it is the subwoofer cable or the subwoofer itself causing problem. How to find that out?
Thanks,
Please check the pins of the plug (round one connecting woofer and speaker). Most probably one or more of the pins could have been bent. You can straighten it with a long and strong needle. All the 10 or more pins need to be seated in the slot. Each pin has a specific function for the sound system.I tried this to my computer speaker Altec Lansing VS2521 and it was successful. I have already posted my method after I made a query like you. If my suggestion does not work be patient for a while and apply your mind exclusively on the problem and you will also come across a solution. Any way keep us informed of your progress.
Thanks and regards

Hi Naryanan,
Sorry, I did not mention that it is used with a receiver. I have used a subwoofer cable to connect it to the receiver. The subwoofer is producing 'shshhh..' noise. I need to isolate the issue, if it is subwoofer, cable or setting issue.
Thanks,
