Sounds like a bad temp sensor or switch. Like in cars my guess is that the switch is failing to work causing the fans to stop despite the pump getting hot.
you cannot blame windows xp because according to me it is such OS that it removes many problems of windows 7 and vista.windows 7 and vista makes your pc much slow and many features dont work but windows xp is free from these errors.actually you hear the sound but nothing appears on the screen.this is because your cpu fan is running which takes somes time to stop.may be some problem of the hardware especially the mainboard.go to any repair shop and just get it checked.
Sometimes the foot pedal sticks, tap on it a few times with your foot to get it to stop, if that doesn't work, unplug the machine for a few minutes then try, if that doesn't work then it will need to go in for repair.
Problem is the motor is going bad. Sometimes the motor can almost cost as much as a new dryer. An excellent little dryer that will last and work ghood for you is Roper, made by whirlpool. Any Lowes store has these. Hope this helps.
You either have excessive dirt in the rubber channels that are slowing the window down, or, you have a bad window motor. Try spraying some 100% silicone spray into the tracks, beside the window, and raise/lower it. If that does not work, the positive coeffcient thermister in the motor is bad; ie replace the motor.
I have a 98 Montero Sport. My wipers paused and went then they stopped completly. Come to find out the grease inside the wiper motor had dried out so I put some grease in it and walla works like new. Better then spending 200 on a new wiper motor ^_^
Try replacing the Wiper Motor Pulse Board Module. It is available at aftermarket parts stores, it is easy to replace, and it is a high failure item. Eventually, the module will fail completely and leave you with no wipers.
