On our Ep3170 we get a C5 error code and the wrench symbol

On our Minolta EP 3170 copy machine we are getting a C5 error code and the wrench symbol and then the unit powers off. We unplugged the unit and then plugged back in. Then as per the Owners manual we held down the Multi-Copy Key ''0'' while turning the power on.
It seemed like it was fixed for a few moments but then the wrench symbol and the code C5 reappeared just before the unit shut off again. Owners manual just says if this happens to call a technician. Does anyone know what error code C5 means? Thanks in advance.

I removed the left side panel (some screws) but did not see anything that resembled switches. Sorry, I guess I just don't know exactly what I am looking for here.

thank you swan34. What you said is correct and I did find the micro switch. The #5 error light however failed to go out so I'm assuming there is a larger problem with my copier than resetting the switches will fix. Do you know which error the #5 represents? What is really wrong, other than a number showing up?

Hello sir;You must remove the left side panel to access the service switch(s1) on PWB A you press this switch to chose the "C" then enter 0 press "#" ,then press "CLEAR" to terminated.

Hello sir; When you removed the left panel , did you see a PC board, there have a small micro switch mark down (S 1) on the PC board A.

Hello sir; If can not reset , then you go to check the continuty of the fuser lamp if no continuty ,replace the lamp, ortherwise replace thermistor, hope that's the solution.

Lens Motor, under the big glass is to your right is the lens assy. there is a motor that works the mirrors on that side it is either jammed or burned out. Or worse case the board controlling it is bad. You have a Legacy Minolta Machine, get a tech out (Old School one:))

Exposure lamp the bright light under the big glass is burned out, try reset, by opening front door look to your upper left small access plate remove it this must be done with machine on. press the reset button if the code goes away OK. If not replace the exposure lamp if you can find one a very very legacy Minolta machine!

Minolta ep 5000 error c0072

A C0072 error code deals with the toner bottle. Remove the toner bottle and close the front door and let the machine warm up. Make one copy and install the toner bottle again. The toner holder may have not been in the correct position. If it continues, you may need to call a service person. Good Luck

I am working in Minolta copier machine EP-2080, and have a error code C-0920, WHAT THIS MEANS AND HOW CAN i FIX IT

On the control panel in the lower left do you see a small wrench? if so touch it the screen will change and then open close front door to clear. As for the code its for a paper draw place paper in each draw separately list if the motor raise the paper. The Service manual I have is for the EP2050 ball park but it is a paper draw and the little wrench should be seen in the lower left of the control panel

My copier minolta cs/pro ep 2010 does not function. when you switch it on it displays a spaner symbol and error code 05

This is a C05 error code. This means you have a fuser error. The fuser is the section that gets hot right where the paper exits the machine. Most common failure in the fuser unit is the thermal fuse. The repair requires removal and some dis-assembly of the fuser unit to replace the fuse. Also have to use a special reset procedure to clear the C05 code from the machine after repairs are made. Do you have access to a local repair shop that can repair this for you?
