Takes 3 minutes to turn on, then is ok finding a signal

Its not uncommon for some GPS to take a while to "warm up"

Check the tom tom site as some tom toms have a quick sat finder update. If you use tom tom home on your computer it usually has an UPDATE option where it will go online and get any fixes etc for your device.

Even then you may still see over a minute or so to boot up.

My tom tom one has lost its voice

From the main menu tap preferences.

To change the volume, tap Volume preferences in the Preferences menu. You will probably see a little "speaker" icon with an X through it. Tap this to turn the sound back on.
To change the volume quickly while you are driving, tap the bottom left-hand section of the Driving View and move the slider.

To change the voice, tap Change Voice in the Preferences menu.

Ultra Sensitive Screen

I had the same problem. I took off the plastic screen protecter that I had placed on it (the same plastic you place on a camera screen to stop it from getting scratched and dirty) and cleaned out the crevices around the screen as I thought that maybe the dirt and the plastic was pushing on the screen and making it super sensitive. (and there was quite a bit of grime after owning it for a little over a year) So far it solved the problem. Hope this works for you.
When I called Tom-Tom they told me I could not get it repaired after the warranty was over, which means no more Tom-Tom products for me, and that the only way it might work would be for me to erase all memory and re-download... and I would have lost all of the voice programs on it. The voice instructions was the only reason I purchased it at $400. Now I own a new Garmin as back up on the road in case this thing should break down. At least the Garmin can be sent in for repairs once the warranty is over. Good luck!
