I have bought a scan board for my Kyocera Mita 2030 but on inserting it, have discovered that there is no internal card-edge to connect it to, unlike the network card. Do I have to dismantle the machine further to find a ribbon cable?

The scan card connector is on the side of the scan card..you have to take off the back cover about 6 or 7 screws..(it's the smaller back cover top left approx 8 x 11 size..

Call for Service ...... C710

Hi there
I have found various documents which may help you with this problem and possible future problems. This page:
Error Codes Kyocera Mita KM1530 Code C710
can find any code connected with Kyocera mita machines by changing the machine and the error code in the appropriate drop down menus. C710 is identified as:
Description Toner sensor problem
• The sensor output voltage is outside the range of 0.5 to 4.5 V during toner control.
• The toner sensor control voltage cannot be set within the setting range when maintenance item U130 is run. Causes Defective toner sensor. Poor contact of the toner sensor connector terminals. Developer problem.
Another page showing error codes and their meanings is here;
Kyocera Mita Error Code Messages
and this confirms the above.
Also the link below takes you to a Kyocera web page where you can download various manuals for this machine (KM-1530). By changing the product in the drop down menu to KN-2030 you can get similar manuals for this machine.
Download Center
In your question you mention "Compatible KP23153 Black Toner Cartridge 106153" and that led me to wonder if the compatible cartridge is the cause of your C710 error since that is toner related.
Might be worth trying an original cartridge to see if the error goes away.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya
Cheers

How do I clean spilled toner from the inside of a Kyocera mita copier?

Try using a small soft brush to brush it off while using a good hepa filter vacuum to remove the toner at the same time. Wear a good breathing mask to protect your lungs!

Hi! Im just wondering for what use the (compact flash) memory card is, when installed in a Kyocera Mita FS-1010? (Beside firmware updates)

Found this in a manual.

Insert the memory (CF) card into the card slot located on the rear of the printer. A memory card is a microchip card that may contain option fonts, macros, forms, etc. The printer reads the contents of the card into its internal memory when printer is turned on. The presence of this data in the printer memory can be confirmed on the status page printout. For details of available memory cards, contact your Kyocera Mita dealer.
1 Turn off the printer. Never insert or remove a memory card while the printer power is on. Failure to turn the power switch off will immediately halt the printer with the four indicators turned on. It also could result in damage to the printer’s electronic parts or the memory card. Turn the power switch on again to restart the printer.

The only thing I have seen it used for (other than firmware) is to store certain info or fonts for forms (ex. tax paperwork or medical).

Hope this helps.

White border on edge of print

The only way would be to use a bigger piece of paper and cut it down to the size you need...... The copier will always leave a white border a round the edges.... It is done so the toner can be fixed into the paper with out off setting or jamming
