There could be a few possible reasons for the grinding noise in your Fisher and Paykel front loader washing machine. Here are a few things to check:
Check the drum paddles: If the drum paddles are worn or broken, they can create a grinding noise during the wash cycle. Check to see if any of the paddles are loose or damaged.
Check the drum bearings: The drum bearings are responsible for supporting the drum and allowing it to spin smoothly. If they are worn or damaged, they can cause a grinding noise. To check the bearings, try spinning the drum by hand. If it makes a grinding noise or feels rough, the bearings may need to be replaced.
Check the drive belt: If the drive belt is loose or worn, it can cause a grinding noise. Check the belt for any signs of wear or damage, and make sure it is properly tensioned.
Check the motor: A faulty motor can sometimes cause a grinding noise. If you suspect the motor is the problem, it's best to call a professional for assistance.
If none of these solutions fix the problem, it's best to call a professional to diagnose and repair the issue.
Hello. The noise you are hearing on spin is a failed basket support bearing. Depending on the model, you are looking at a cost of a professional to repair it of around $400+. If you do it yourself, around $200. This is a common failure on LG washers.
The noise you can hear is the drum bearings, the seal between the drum and bearings has failed and let water into the bearings which has destroyed the bearings.
the drum bearings are bad,it costs anywhere from $400.00 to $900.00 to replace them and possibly more if you need to replace the inner tub with the bearings
You would hear the bearings in the spin cycle if it was them ....it would sound like you are at the airport...you will probably find that a bra wire has caught itself inbetween the drum and the tub and is scratching as it goes around.
There are three reasons for such awful noise during spinning. Either the drum or the bearing turning the drum. Check for drum bearing failure if your washing machine is noisy on the spin cycle. Drum bearing failure is common when the bearing seals start allowing water to enter. You can take the belt off and spin the drum by hand, and if the drum rumbles, replace the bearings.
Remove the dive belt, and spin the drum by hand, if it feels rough or is noisy, then the main drum bearings have failed, if no noise, then look elsewere.
