I have a Frigidaire FRS26ZSH and I tired to replace the light in the front ice and water dispenser area and the bulp blew out immeidately when I screwed it in and the whole dispenser panel lost power and now nothing works - we can't get water or ice and there are no lights lit on the front panel. everything inside the frig and freezer still works, and the icemaker is still making ice.
any thoughts? I took the panel cover off the ice/water dispenser and noticed a fuse on the control board that looked pretty burnt - could that be it?
I think you will need to unplug the pin plug under the cover at top or bottom hinge. Check the voltage and if OK leave unplugged until you can remove the dispenser and I will try to help you from the power source. Sounds like a short in the board and related to the light socket. The fuse only stopped the short from doing further damage, You may need to locate the short before replacing the fuse or board. I have looked over the wiring diagram. If you find the short without my help just be sure to replace the fuse with the correct size. The only things are the chute heater or something in that area of the board went to ground. Do you have a voltage meter? Contact me later when ready, Sea Breeze

After a power surge my refrigerator frs26zsh stop running, the lights are on but is not running. I changed the defroster timer, but not the thermostat. Any help
Did you replace the bulb with one of the same voltage rating?
Seems strange that a new bulb should blow straight away, maybe it was faulty.
This sounds like a blown fuse.
