HP LaserJet 4700 Printer Logo

HP Color LasetJet 4700dn prints everything landscape. Check properties and/or print preview, looks good, but comes out landscape. It didn't do this last week.

  • Anonymous Jan 20, 2010

I deleted the printer and added it again, replacing the drivers and it is still printing landscape. Argh!

  • Anonymous Feb 04, 2010

Thanks very much for the suggestions. Evidently there was a driver being pushed out over the network that was interferring with the locally installed driver for the same printer. The problem has been solved. Hooray!

First go to your printer properties and check the preferences and make sure it is not set to landscape. If it is set to portrait you might have to uninstall the drivers and reinstall them all over again. This shouldn't take long at all.

How can I print what appears on the screen completely?

Many web designers are conscious of the fact that some people will want hard copies of their web pages. For these sites, you can just print in regular "portrait" mode. At other sites, however, part of the text gets chopped off in regular page orientation. Before you print anything it is a good idea to preview the page first. Just go to File / Print Preview .
There you can make sure that everything will print correctly. If you see that part of the page will be cut off, just click the " Page Setup " button (it looks like a page with a gear on it) or use the keyboard shortcut Alt+U.
You can then change your page layout to landscape. Your browser is, after all, in landscape format, so why not go with the flow. Go down to where it says "Orientation" and click the radio button next to "Landscape".
Print Preview will change to show the new layout. Is everything there now

Hello

Before actually printing your report, use the Print Preview function to see how it will look. If there are blank pages, you will see them in Print Preview.

To use the Print Preview function, simply open the report, click on the "File" menu and choose "Print Preview" from the file menu. You will then see your report just as it will look on the printed page.

Scroll through the report for blank pages. If you see blank pages, it is an indication that the data on the report is wider than the paper you are using. You can use your printer properties to change the size of the paper if you wish. If you have access to legal-size paper, you may be able to print the report on the larger paper. If legal-size paper is not an option, you will need to adjust the margins so that the blank pages are eliminated.

To adjust the margins of your report, click on the "File" menu and choose "Page Setup" from the drop-down box. Go to the Margins tab and adjust the margins as needed. It may take a bit of experimentation to get the margins just right; toggling back and forth between Print Preview and Page Setup will make the process faster and easier.

Click on the "Page" tab and choose either portrait or landscape orientation. Changing the orientation to landscape may allow all the fields to print on the same page, thus eliminating the blank pages and saving your paper.

Can't print in landscape no matter what I do - have tried setting, print screen, print icon. It looks fine on the screen but it will not print out in landscape. Help!

Before you print, can you do a Print Preview from the File menu?

When you choose print preview, there should be a button or menu choice that says Page Setup. In Word for Windows, it's the 4th button from the left and it looks like a little gear.

Choose Page Setup. You should see a button that has chosen Portrait. Click the button that changes it to Landscape. Then hit okay. Good luck

I need to know how to print an envelope on and HP color laserjet 4700dn

Select envelope, after you hit print. Run one first on a sheet of regular paper, to see the orientation. Then, just put them in, the way you have it set up for.

My HP PSC 1200 printer has started printing all landscape documents as portraits and visa versa. Reinstalling has not helped.

hi

goto the control panel-->printers and faxes and do a right click on the printer icon.now goto printing preferences and change the settings as per your need
there is also a check box for showing the preview before printing, check that ,now everytime you want to print something it will show you a preview in advance for how the print out's gonna look like
you can change the settings as portrait or landscape by going to printing preferences.
hope this helps

Cannot print landscape with LJ 2600

I fail to see what it has to do with the printer???? It is an application problem. As long as it's landscape but letter size the printer should not know the difference.

(I work with HP printers everyday). The only thing that might have happen is the setting for your tray may have changed.

Check the setting in the pc under Printers and go to the properties setting,
