Hey my toyota altezza cd player (changer) it keeps skipping and sometimes wont read the cd a gives me an error message. doesthe lens need to be replaced?

you need too take the back off and clean all !! the rollers
i use white vinegar acetic acid
you can also buy rubber roller rejuvenator liquid
its quite expensive and tbh isnt much better than vinegar
sounds like the stacker has an issue
carefully check around the whole unit for any bits of paper
thats got jammed and is slowing down rollers etc etc
Someone is going to have to open it up and LOOK to see if jammed, out of alignment or has damaged mechanism. Any of these can prevent the unit from working.
i had the very same problem with a six stacker in my ford, the stacker inside has come of its tracks even by one or two teeth so when the cd tries to eject it jams on the side walls because of this alignment, only way to fix is to take it out and realign. may need to get a mechanic or your dealer to do it like i did as the computer system was attached to my cd player. not sure about the accord but this is a familiar problem with all sorts of 6 and 10 stacker cd players
I had this problem...ignored it for a year then decided to have it fixed. No-one could fix it where I lived so before I went out and bought a replacement, I removed the top panel on the player (the one over the cd stacker) and had a look myself. There were 2 round discs loose in the player that I guessed were supposed to be attached to the 'arm' that takes the cd and spins it to make it play. I put them back on the 'pin' on the arm - the white disc first then the silver and black one on top and its playing again. I dont know how long for...it does tend to skip sometimes though. Better than nothing at all - and at least now I have a radio too. I'm just a girl who guessed were the parts went however....but maybe the parts inside have atendency to get loose and fall off? ok error code 1, look for this error code on your owners manual, toyota cd players give 3 error codes, this mean error code 1, error code 2, and error code 3, they all have different meaning please check owners manuel to see what does error 1 mean i will try looking for you
We eventually tried loading another CD to fill the one vacant spot we knew was in the changer even though we'd tried that before without success. This time it seems that we fluked it just as it was trying to eject CD 1 again and - somehow - the CD we were tryng to insert must have lifted the rim of the one that was stuck and it suddenly ejected. The remaining 4 CD's that were inside the changer but not even recognised, then started re-loading so it appears that they were all jammed up together. Once they'd reloaded we were able to eject them all successfully then reload.
We're not sure but think that it may have happened when the eject button was originally pressed once to eject CD 6 then, in error, held down for a 'eject all' procedure and the changer has become confused with both instructions.
power off. open the cd changer unit. look for the motor that, when turning, performs the eject mechanism. now turn this motor by hand in the proper direction until cassette is fully ejected.
