If you have the Whirpool Cabrio and you have been getting the F1 or F51 error code, the washer stops mid cycle or will not start at all, the whirpool company is replacing the electrical boards on certain machines. Call 866-698-2538 to see if your model is covered!

When the Whirlpool Cabrio displays an F1 error, this means the the control board is having difficulty communicating with the motor. To fix your F1 error, you can first try to unplug your washing machine for 15 minutes and then plug it back in. If this doesn't work, you will need to replace the control board

F1 error in your whirlpool cabrio indicates bad control board and should be replaced to resolve the error code. However, you can contact Whirlpool as well prior to replacing the control yourself as I have seen whirlpool paying for the parts themselves just because this is known to be a common issue. The error means that washer repeatedly quits mid-cycle. Basically, the F51 error is a rotor position sensor error.

There is a recall for the Cabrio for having the "F1" error(I had mine fixed by whirpool for free). Sounds like you are getting the F1 error code. If you have not had the washer repaired under the warranty program then you should give Whirlpool a call and get it repaired under warranty. When you call them say that you are getting the "F1" error code and have read on the internet that there is a recall. Have your model number,serial number and date of purchase available. They will send someone out to inspect the washer and repair if they have the control board in stock(they had to order mine and it took 2 days for it to arrive). F1 means the control board is shot. Call whirlpool and they should take care of the parts and labor even though your machine is out of warranty.

Call Whirlpool at 800-253-1301 in USA. There is a recall on this washer for the F1 code. Service call and parts are free. I just did it today.
