There is an escapement type mechanism in the back of the typewriter, chances are, the escapement mechanism is out of movement or misaligned. Check the spacebar if something is caught underneath or over one of the linkages.
Press and hold [CODE] while pressing [TW/WP] key.
Display should read "CREATE-P"
Press spacebar to select desired fuction displayed.
Press [RETURN] to select function.
The T/W is probably just gummy. Will it tab? If so the correction mech. is probably the trouble, if not try some WD40 on the silver shaft that the s carrier slides on.
First find the margin release key and press it once. Then use the spacebar to move the carrier forward and reset the right margin. Or again use the margin release key by pressing it once and then press and hold the backspace key to move through where the left margin was and reset it at the point where you want it.
Left Margin:
Move the carrier to the place you want to set the left margin by using (SPACEBAR) or (BACKSPACE). If you need to move outside the current left margin, press (ALT) + (M REL) (3). Press (ALT) + (L MAR) (4). The left margin is now set.
Right Margin:
Move the carrier to the place you want to set the left margin by using (SPACEBAR) or (BACKSPACE). If you need to move outside the current right margin, press (ALT) + (M REL) (3). Press (ALT) + (R MAR) (5). The right margin is now set.
