sc486 is a solenoid error with the black drum unit. The most likely culprits are a bad engine board and a bad drive unit, neither one of which is cheap unfortunately. You should contact your local service technician and have them take a look at the printer to see which component is causing your problem.
I remember a discussion on this code in an old thread somewhere. The agreed solution was to replace the whole transfer roller assembly because of a broken contact terminal in the discharge plate housing. I'd probably try that before a high-voltage board.3
Sorry for long delay. Yes you should be able to buy toner to refill your empty carts. i always recommend using original stuff though. Saves any complications and possibility of wrong toner type getting used.
