Washer won't spin. Washed bath mats (small) and they came out fine. Washed one small (2x3) bath rug, went to get it and it was wet. Tried the spin cycle and it won't go, can hear noise like the motor's running, but it won't spin. Tried putting in (dry) sheets to see if it was a load size thing, but doesn't spin that either. 15 days outside the one year warranty! (of course)

Read a post from someone else on this - turned out it works fine, just wouldn't work with the small wet load. I added towels to the bath mat load, washed them, it spins fine. Washed clothes & that worked fine too. Yay!! Not broken. Just not found of small loads of bath mats!

New high efficiency. Washed a bath rug on wrong setting & rug so soaked, cannot even lift it! How do get to run on "Drain & Spin" cycle?

Hello,

You should just be able to turn on the power and push the "Rinse Drain and spin" button to do an extra Drain and spin OR you should be able to select just the "drain and spin" option with the knob depending on your control panel type.

I hope this helps.

My Samsung washing machine won't rinse or spin, I have been told to unscrew two bolts on the water pump but can't find the two bolts on the water pump, what does this look like?

I washed a bath mat and the dryrot from the back came off in the washer. The washer stopped spinning and won't drain now. I checked the hose to see if it was clogged, but appeared to me clear. Sounds like motor is trying to spin but won't move.

Washer won't spin and empty the water out of the

Shirley, it may be the drain pump is obstructed or possibly the lid switch is broken. If you washed bath mats or rubber backed rugs recently i would go for the pump. If you washed a semi bulky item with a tendency to float I would go for the switch.
Get me a model number and I can help you with dis-assembly if you'd like further help!

Hi..we washed a rubber backed rug and the rubber came off and the water will not fully drain. we washed several empty cycles since with no results

You will have to take the hoses off between the tub and pump, and the pump and weall drain. They are packed with rubber. Oh, don't forget to clean the inside of the pump too. Run clean water through all hoses and the pump before reinstalling and you should be fine. Don't wash rubber backed rugs in washers unless you go to the laundry mat. This should be put in the maintenance guide of your washer book, but I've yet to see it.

Calypso washer - LD Code - clothes still wet

harborstuff,
The code on your machine stands for 'Long Drain'. Ld flashes if it takes longer than 5 minutes to pump out water to a point where the operating pressure switch resets. I would bet that the bath mats left a bunch of stuff stuck in the recirculation pump hose, or pump itself, and the water cannot be drained fast enough. Check the intake and exit hoses of the recirc pump. It's easiest to get to the pump through the front panel of the machine(click here). Looks like this: click here. Hope this helps.
(Definitely get under there and check to make sure the pump hoses are not clogged. At $129 it's an expensive fix for a $10 bath mat that clogged up the hose with fuzz. 'know what I'm sayin'' :o) )

BTW, I have the maintenance manual & have experience at replacing the recirc. pump, control board, motor board, touchpad, & lid switch so far.

Do not use in washer. The fact that you got away with it before is your hint NOT to do this again or else bigger problems???

Small rug washing in front end loader washer

its problably not able to balenbace the load of rugs, if the machine cant balance itwont go to high speed spin. in actuallity your probalby better off bringing the rugs to the laundry mats, especially if the are rubber backed, the rubber backing will come off clogging your pump assy, then your looking at replacing hte pump for a few hundred dollars, for a clean set of $30 bath rugs.

Dark Spots on clothes

There may be some pieces of mat stuck between the inner and outer drums. The quickest way to remove this is to remove the drain hose that leads from the drum to the pump and feel around the bottom of the outer drum and remove any foreign objects that may be stuck in there.
