This battery can not be used message appears right

"This battery can not be used" message appears right after power up and camera shuts down. It's a 1 month old battery that came with the camera. The problem started to appear after camera got some moisture in the rain.

SOURCE: When I turn the camera on I get a message

Hi

What you are seeing is a generic message that means there is some sort of problem with the lens, it could happen in many different ways such as sand or dirt in the lens gears.

A couple solutions would be to either buy a defective camera online and make one good camera from the two if you can do that sort of thing yourself, or secondly have it repaired by somebody.

Don't bother trying to send the camera to Canon if it is out or warranty (though you can call them and verify what I'm about to say) because they will want $150+ to do the repair for you. Parts are not cheap to buy from them.

I know of one very affordable digital camera repair business... because I own it. The name is Darntoothysam, feel free to check us out, we are on that big auction website also (I don't plug their name for free), our seller ID is 'darntoothysam'. If you Google "darntoothysam" you will find us.

We have your repair listed as a package in our store for about $75. This covers a new lens, and return shipping of your camera! We even give a 90 day warranty on parts and labor. If you think you can use us then please check us out, even if you need to ask more questions then please feel free to contact me.

Hope this helps,

Thomas

SOURCE: when powered on, message comes up...

The lens can not move due to a possible obstruction.

Gently put some force on the lens, turn the camera on and it works. I suppose there is too much friction between lens and camera.

Best regards from Holland!

SOURCE: "turn camera off then on again" message

There could be a short in the battery contacts in your camera. You should inspect them for corrosion or oxidation.

SOURCE: When I turn the camera

Have Kodak Easyshare V1253 with same, "high temp.," error then shutdown. Kodak batt. showed 25% charged. Charged batt 100% & temp. error went away. Batt. internal shows camera if batt. too hot. Try new batt.

''err 99'' code appearing fairly often recently on Canon Rebel XT

To isolate the cause of the issue, do the following: -

1. Turn off the camera.
2. Remove the lens, battery, and CF card.
3. Allow the camera to sit without power for approximately 20 minutes.
4. Insert only a fully charged battery, and turn on the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.

Does the “ERR 99′ message appear? If so, the camera may be faulty and requires a service. If it does not, then: -

1. Turn off the camera.
2. Insert the CF card.
3. Turn on the camera.
4. Format the CF card in the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.

Does the “ERR 99′ message appear? If so, then the CF card is faulty. Try a different card. If the message does not appear: -

1. Turn off the camera.
2. Clean the gold contacts on the lens by GENTLY rubbing them with a pencil eraser or soft cloth. Keeping the camera face pointing down, also clean the gold contacts on the camera, being careful that you do not let any debris fall into the camera body.
3. Reattach your lens.
4. Turn on the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.
If the “ERR 99′ message only appears when one particular lens is attached, then that lens should be examined by a service technician.
If you see the “ERR 99′ with a different Canon lens attached, then the camera is faulty and should be serviced.

1. Turn off the camera.
2. Insert the CF card.
3. Turn on the camera.
4. Format the CF card in the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.

1. Turn off the camera.
2. Clean the lens contacts by gently rubbing them with a pencil eraser
or soft cloth. Be careful that you do not let any debris fall into the

Let me know if this worked, if not then the camera is dead and it would require some service or a replacement

Nikon D40 Error Message

Get the kit changed. That should not happen right out of the box, but make double sure the next time around, you charge the battery completely before using it the first time. Not doing this can cause problems.

Error code messages in the status panel of the Fun! Digital 320 camera.

The following is a listing of the error codes you might see on the status panel of the PhotoMAX Fun! Digital 320 camera: 1.FL - Photo memory is full. You cannot take more photos. Download and then erase the photos in your camera. 2.FE - Flash memory error. A camera hardware error occurred. This can happen when the power is shut off before a photo is completely stored in the camera. Do not shut off the power until the green light comes back on steady after you take a photo. 3.bE - Hardware problem. Turn the power switch on and off and see if the error message disappears. If the error message persists, the camera may need to be replaced. 4.Lo - Battery low. Replace the camera battery as soon as possible. If you continue to use the camera, picture quality will be poor. 5.LL - Low light condition. The camera does not have enough light to take a good photo. Improve the subject lighting if possible. Example: When taking indoor photos, add additional room lighting.
