The picture is showing a double image and is distored.

Your color is distorted because your color wheel is probably going bad. Try resetting all the picture values first. Sometimes they need to go back to normal when the lamp is changed. Lamps only provide white light and have no bearing on colors unless they are very dim. Also check your cables. a loose or bad cable can cause this as well. Lastly make sure your new lamp is made by Osram or Philips. knock offs wont work.

When you say "distort the picture", are you referring to dark image? double picture

This is a convergence problem that can be as simple as poor solder connections at the convergence ICs or defective ICs. This is causes by a defective ccd sensor the optical unit needs replacement. If you're out of warranty, you will have to send it to a third party camera repair service. Expect the price to 40-50% of a used equivalent.

You might have "color filter" settings. Turn the digital filters off. Here is what manual at p72 says. "You can take pictures using digital filters. The filters consist of color filters such as red, blue and green, a soft filter that produces a fuzzy effect. Color filters Eight colors, black-and-white, sepia, red, pink, violet, blue, green and yellow, are provided for the color filters. When you select a color filter in the Digital Filter mode, the display on the LCD monitor is filtered with the selected color, and the pictures are taken in that color."
