ORA-12545:
Connect failed because target host or object does not exist
Cause:
The address specified is not valid, or the program being connected to does not exist. Action:
Ensure the ADDRESS parameters have been entered correctly; the most
likely incorrect parameter is the node name. Ensure that the executable
for the server exists (perhaps "oracle" is missing.) If the protocol is
TCP/IP, edit the TNSNAMES.ORA file to change the host name to a numeric
IP address and try again.
Each computer on the router is assigned an ip if DHCP is enabled in the router. This is known as your inhouse IP and you will need these to forward ports.
On each computer connected to the router open cmd (command prompt) and type ipconfig /all Make note of the ip assigned for each machine.
Open your router setup and enable DHCP if is isn't already. Save changes. Locate Port Forwarding or Advanced Routing. Create a rule for each machine. You can name them anything you like, such as machine1, machine2... Select TCP for the protocol. You can select a port range in the ports boxes. In the IP box you will type the ip for each machine and select enable. Save Changes. Reboot everything, machines, router and modem.
Also note some routers have a gaming tab which will make this easier to setup.
i have an IR 3300 (used) i have given TCP/IP correct with machine and PC also. ping command is working properly and IR Machine also response from the host and also i'm success output (Printout) but can't scanning. I have scangear also tried but the messeage appear "the spacified IP address is invalid or scanner is not connected to the specified IP" but my IP address is correct. (both side) i know that after this my Machine will be online from System button but there is no software. i cant solve my problem
how can i connect my Machine from PC
Usually cable providers provide public ip directly to your company ( already bridged ). so no need to configure your modem to bridge.
- Connect the computer directly to the modem and if possible, let me know the ip address of your PC, So we can find the modem already bridged.
- If its already bridged, then Open the ports on your Router ( port number : 3389 for TCP ) or else you may try DMZ Host on your router to check whether it works.
Note:
DMZ ( Demilitarize Zone ) host which opens all ports on your network and shows ur computer to the outside Network which is not really secured one. but you can try it for testing purpose whether it let you to use remote desktop.
Hi dave,
I'm not familiar with that router at all and I didn't find any doc's online for it so I'm running blind here but...
If the router has it make sure "Block WAN Request" is disabled or you won't get anywhere.
Also I don't know if the print server has anything to do with your problem. Have you tried mapping those ports directly to the host in the router?
TCP PCanywhere port 5631 Inbound 192.168.1.[host IP] port 5631
UDP PCanywhere port 5632 Inbound 192.168.1.[host IP] port 5632
I'm also assuming that you're using a static IP on the host. You don't want to use a dynamic IP.
Hope this helps.
Let me know how you make out,
Duder
