Re: Change a right-handed reel to a left-handed...
On your reel on the opposite side of the handle is a nut, loosen that nut until it comes off then pull the handle out of the body and reinsert from the other side and tighten the nut back up.
Re: Change a right-handed reel to a left-handed...
You just have to unscrew the little screw that is on the opposite side as the reel and sometimes the reed will actually unscrew. You just unscrew it and screw it back onto the other side

Drag factory installed for left-hand wind. To change your real to right-hand wind, remove spool, pull the keyed bush and clicker plate assembly off the spindle. Flip the clutch bearing (silver) and reassemble.
Hold the bell or (metal thing on the top) so that it doesn't turn and reel in.
It should start unscrewing. Theres a cap on the other side, unscrew it and
put it on the left hand side. Then screw the handle in on the right side by just reeling in until the bell starts spinning.
On the new Pflueger Supreme ( which I own one of) tighten the drag down ( just snug it down) PUSH IN ON THE DRAG STAR, TURN HANDLE; COUNTER CLOCK WISE! Handle will back off...you must keep the drag star compressed until you reach a point it will no longer engage.....DO NOT LOSE THE SPRING behind the drag star. Good Luck.
unscrew the 2 screws and change position of line guide, remove anti-reverse ratchet, flip it over and re-assemble.if you get stuck go online to fishingmag.co.nz and put the name of your reel in. regards barry.
When facing the deck, the feed reel goes on the left and the take-up reel goes on the right. Make sure to secure each reel by engaging the reel locks on each of the spindles. Place the feed reel with the free end of the tape on the left and hanging downwards (like the letter "P"). Pass the tape to the right of the tension spindle (which is above and to the left of the play/record heads unit. Pull the tape down and pass it underneath the heads from left to right. Then on the right hand side of the heads unit pass the tape between the guide wheel and the first guide spindle to its left and just above. Then pass the tape over the top of the second guide spindle. Finally, loop the tape under the right hand tension spindle and pull it up and feed onto the take-up reel from the right in an anticlockwise direction (like the letter "g"). Once you have it through the slot in the centre of the reel, hold the tape end there with your finger and wind the reel around a few times to hold the tape in place and ... Voila!
