SOURCE: Fuji S5700 Replacement LCD

I just purchased a replacement LCD screen off of Ebay from a seller called D & H Camera in Chicago, IL. The cost was $49.99 (Buy it now) with a $15 shipping fee. It came very quickly and I am going to attempt to install it myself although the seller offered to do it free of charge if you would rather send it to him. The local camera shop from where I purchased the camera said it would cost as much as the camera did to replace it so this is a good deal in my opinion. Good luck.

Try removing the memory card and reading it through a card reader inserted into a USB port. Have you installed the program that came with the camera? I never used mine because I have other high end graphics programs and I always use a card reader instead of the cable. You WILL need the program if you want to do a firmware/BIOS update in the S700, and also the cable. The S700/5700 will only accept up to a 2gig memory card. If you want to use a 4 gig card, the camera (and also your computer) won't recognize the card until you do the update to the firmware. Available with instructions from FujifilmUSA website.

You may not be able to. However let us try. Reset all menus to default, or factory settings. Another way to do it, possibly is to remove all batteries and let the camera sit for at least 24 hours, then put the batteries back in and try it.
You may need repairs.

SOURCE: my FUJI FINEPIX S5700 Digital Camera keeps saying

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Regards
Andrea

Night shoot and Indoor photo quality is not good with Fuji S5700

Your Sony camera must be more noise-free at high Iso settings than the S5700. As you view your shots on the camera, press the button with the square and the +/- symbol in it. Now you can see what Iso setting the pic was taken at. The 400, 800 and 1600 settings are all noisy on this camera. The only solution is to use a tripod with long shutter time and Iso 200 or less.

The +/- button is located on the bottom right corner on the back of the cam. If you do not find it on your cam, probably "you are not using a Genuine Fuji S5700".
