Firstly I would check it is fully engaged. If it is, remove the food grinder and look into the hole. You should be able to see a square hole inside. Turn on the mixer, the square hole should spin, if it does not, one of the gears inside the head has most likely broken. To repair this you will need to take the head apart.

The other possibility is that I misread your problem and that the grinder is turning, but the meat wont go through the plates at the end. This is a common issue which happens if the blade is not put in the end of the grinder. The blade is shaped like a cross and cuts the meat when it reaches the end of the screw.

Hobart Legacy HL200 stopped working?

That is a $10k to $20k mixer, depending on where you buy it. I have used one of these. Unfortunately, grinding noises that result in the motor stopping can be fixed with a power disconnect.

Grinding noises = dry bearings, to seized bearings, to shredded or stripped gears. You need a Hobart Service Tech.

Motor works but won't mix when the bowl has ingredients in it.

It sounds like the fuse gear has failed, you need to remove the planetary and the stand. Then split the gear cases by undoing all the screws going up through the bottom of the case, 9x from memory.

When raised to do whipping my professional 550 hd mixer attachment does not scrap the bowl to mix properly

You can adjust the mixer bowl up and down slightly. If you lower your bowl and look at the back you will see a little screw, it looks like a flat head screw and it is on the "neck" of the mixer.
You can raise and lower the bowl by adjusting this cam screw. You can tell that your bowl is adjust correctly by attaching the flat beater and put a dime in the bottom of the bowl, the beater should just barely touch the dime and move it around the bottom of the bowl.

The beater will not scrape the sides of the bowl, if you are wanting the sides of the bowl scraped I would recommend the Flex Edge Beater made by KitchenAid which is basically a flat beater with a rubberized edge which will scrape the side of the bowl as it rotates.

Here is a link to the flex edge beater on our website: http://www.mendingshed.com/kfe6l.html

Mixer arms shake when kneading bread

You have not supplied a model number and the bowl lift models are not all the same. A couple of items you could check, make sure that the bowl retaining clip that engages with the dimple on the pedestal side of the bowl is not broken. Make sure any bolts/screws holding the pedestal to the base or the pedestal to the motor are tight. Even if you supply a model number I can't think of anything else to look at unless the handle is not lifting the bowl up tight enough. I think on some models the arm holds the carrier up with some pressure which would help stop the wobbles.

Blender attachment does not work

It could be the drive belts. There are three. One for the motor to the belt drive. one from belt drive to bowl mixer spindle. one from belt drive to mixer spindle. mine started to do the same thing. I ordered the belts from Bosch.

KitchenAid K5 Mixer Bowl Rocks Back & Forth

This may be explained with the bowl assembly. Being a bowl lift mixer, please follow the following steps to make sure the bowl is being secured before mixing:

There are the bowl-holding arms on the left and right hand side of the mixer. You will place the bowl on these arms, securing it onto the pegs.

Also, take your fingertips and press down firmly at the back of the bowl where it is resting against the base. You will hear an audible click as the bowl secures down into a spring latch mechanism on the stand mixer base, allowing the mixing bowl to sit flush and secure.

The pasta/meat grinder attachment stops turning

Its a 325 watt mixer. If you grind or mix dough often you may consider getting something stronger or turn it off every ten minutes or so and let it cool down. We burned a 325 and got the 575 watt "600" series and no problems ever since. I know these things are expensive. The 325 is more mixer than grinder. The attachements fit ANY size mixer but some are not recommended for use in all mixers.
If its quiting see my posts on "doesn't run at sitr" and "Removing the motor cover" To get inside and clean those contacts.

Black Residue on meat using Kitchenaid meat grinder attachment

This is a common issue with the Kitchenaid food grinder. The black residue is a product of the meat itself.

With Kitchenaid Food Grinder Attachments, it is recommended that the meat be partially frozen before grinding. This is to ensure a quality grind and to make sure the meat holds all its juices while grinding.

If any juices from the meat are leaked into the food grinder, the friction will cause a chemical reaction and turn the juice from the meat into a black substance.

KitchenAid Mixer

depending on the model there is a round cover on the front of the mixer. Detach it to expose the secondary drive connection. Depending on what you are connecting to it you need to connect to the drive port and secure the accessory so it is stable. If you need instructions google kitchen aid and ask them for a manual.
