Is there any computer connected to the router with the cable ?
If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router.
Check the Ip address and default gateway. default gateway will be the current Ip address of your router.
Once you open the router set up page with the current IP address , you will be able to change the IP address of the router

Click Here for more information about the router and network

SOURCE: change ip address of recently installed router

The 192.168.0.1 is the device IP.

Your trying to change the "Default Gateway" mine is set to 192.168.1.1

Let me explain (:
1.Go to start>run>type "cmd" without quotes and press enter.

The black screen should appar, in that screen type "ipconfig/all" without quotes.

And press enter.

This is what mine looks like:
defa44d.png

I took out some things to my security, but basically this is what some of these things represent.

For you, your IP it shows would be something like:
192.168.1.101
Each device hooked up to your network gets its own IP it will start at 192.168.1.101 for the first device, then 192.168.1.102 then the next device gets 192.168.1.103,etc...

Your default gateway, 192.168.1.1 is where it starts, to change this go to:

  1. Open your browser
  2. Type in the browser 192.168.1.1
  3. Login to your router panel (the user an pass sometimes are admin/admin look in your manul for more info)
  4. Look where you can change your default gateway.
Here is a example of what mine looks like:

I hope this educated you, and helped you fix your problem for more help visit www.pc-fix.us or just reply here.

SOURCE: i changed my dlink dir-300 router's ip address

Yes, resetting it will revert it back to factory settings (and therefore original IP address). Sometimes it is best to start over when something like this happens. ;)

Remember though, if you are configuring your router with a wireless connection you need to disconnect/reconnect to you wireless network (because you just changed it's address).

Port forwarding for model number F7D5301

To setup port forwarding on this router your computer needs to have a static ip address. Or you can take alook at our Static IP Address guide to setup a static ip address. When you are finished setting up a static ip address, please come back to this page and enter the ip address you setup in the Static IP Address box below. Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser. If you do not know your routers internal IP address please read our How To Find Your Routers IP Address guide.

The address bar has http://www.fixya.com/AnswerQuestions.aspx#top in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your router. By default the IP address should be set to 10.1.1.1.

We do not currently know the default username and password for your router.
Click the NAT button near the left of the page.
You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click Port Forwarding.
Enter the name of the program into the Description box. It doesn't really matter what you put into this box, but something that will remind you why these ports are being forwarded would be a good idea.
Enter the port to forward into the Public Port and the LAN Port boxes.
Use the Protocol Type drop down box to select the protocol type of the ports you are forwarding.
Enter the ip address to forward these ports to into the LAN IP Address box. If you are forwarding ports so you can run a program on your computer, you should enter your computer's ip address into that box.
Put a checkmark in the Enable checkbox.
When you're finished, click Save Setting near the top of the screen to save your changes.

And that's it! You're done!

Default gateway is the IP address of the router.
Connect the computer to the router.
Open the setup page of the router using the current default gateway number.

Choose "Prpoerties"
In the Properties window, double-click "IP Address"
See the IP Address assigned? change the last digit by one number.
Example: if the IP Address is 192.168.1.2 then change to 192.168.1.3

[OK] [OK][OK]

It should work now...

N4prouter

This is a quick fix to your problem.

Go into the xbox live network configuration and manually set the IP address there.

The IP address consists of 4 octets (4 sets of numbers) separated by periods.

You will only want to change the last number.

For instance, if the current IP address is 192.168.1.3 you would only change the 3.

I would suggest using a number like 237 to avoid conflicting with the other computers and devices on the network.

Let me know how it goes.
