SOURCE: washer keeps filling up with hot water
Hi
If your washer is overfilling, check these:
Water-inlet valve
A defect in the water-inlet valve may mean that it's no longer able to shut off completely when the electricity has been turned off to it. If this occurs, the valve may leak and drip water into the clothes tub. In time, the water may accumulate substantially. If this happens, you need to replace the valve.
Water-level switch
A defect--or an obstruction--in the water-level switch may mean that it can't tell the water to shut off. So the machine overflows. This switch senses the water level in the clothes tub. It's usually a diaphragm device with a small, clear tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. As the water level in the tub increases, the pressure on the air in the tube increases. When the pressure reaches a certain level, it activates the switch, shuts off the water, and signals the timer to begin the agitate cycle. You can either clear any obstruction in the tube or replace the water-level switch.
Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

It appears your dual inlet water valve has failed in this instance.
For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...
FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.
PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.
If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.
Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.
If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.
Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question

Good description of your problem-- Let's see if we can locate the Solenoid valve that controls your Hot Water flow.
Usually on the back side of the machine, you can see where the hoses from that valve on the wall connect to the machine-- Find that?
Access is often thru the top removed from the machine-- But possibly you can replace the Water valves from the back side-- What do you see is more likely in your case?
There will be a couple wires, that will go up to the control board-- mark and identify them so you can put them back in the same locations.
And usually a couple screws attach the valve to the frame on the back side.
Removal of the top of the machine is not too hard--
Usually 2 screws toward the bottom of the front panel, allow its removal--
and usually 2 spring slips at the top, hold the Top to the front--
Pushing in with a putty knife separates the spring clips from the front, and allows the top to pivot up out of the way-- allowing access to most of the parts down inside--
Is that the way yours works?-- Look and see,a nd get back with us,-- so we can help you to the next step.

SOURCE: lights turn on washing machine
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
If you have checked that the hot water tap is turned on fully and the hose is not kinked or squashed at the back, it is worth while checking the hot water inlet filter. Turn the tap off and remove the hot water hose at the washer end. Inside the inlet port there is normally a little filter which should just slide out. Clean if necessary and replace it and the hose. DO THE SAME WITH THE COLD WATER SUPPLY.If after turning the taps back on there is no improvement, the problem is symptomatic of a malfunctioning (probably) hot water control valve. Sorry but it needs replacing and a service call ;-0(
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck,
John C
