Color goes all crazy after tv warms up.

I have the LTV-32 in Westinghouse tv. It is about 3 years old, lately the color goes all pink and blue and the dark colors all look black after being on for a few minutes and heating up. Going to take it in for repair but would really like to have an idea what is wrong before I take it in.

Naw, simple fix!!! Listen to LarryK420 on this forum:

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=18039617#post18039617

and see my posts at the end. CLEAN YOUR LCD CONTROLLER RIBBON CABLES. It only took a single average size Phillips head screwdriver and an eraser. Remember where the different screws go, fine thread into metal, coarse thread into plastic, and make sure all the cables you disconnect are reconnected correctly and securely. Power it up and make sure all is well, before you put it all backtogether. I thought great, I still have a picture, put all the screwsback in, then no sound. The clip came off with the speaker cable, and I put it on backwards. Luckily no permanent consequences, but I had to reopen the TV and flip it, then it was loose, so I bent it back a bit so it was more perpendicular to the board, and it all stayed snug. I can't believe it seems not to be some overheating or failing component, costing lots of money, totally free.

Usually a color missing is a bent pin if you are using it as a PC monitor. Definately check your cables and see if the problems follows the input selections. If it does it most likely is a electronic component failure. Of course this assumes the settings aren't randomly messed up. You might be wanting to invite that guy that always has things taken apart when you visit...or start watching online sales...head's up on repair bills...a similar product costs $400 new, 300 refurbished.

Negative type images in pink & lime green

I had the same problem....turned out it was the "lvds" cable that runs from the mainboard to the lcd controller board. Simply remove the tape that holds it to the back of the backlight housing and also remove the foil shielding tape from the connector on the lcd controller board.

COLOR PROBLEMS

yes a difficult lesson to learn who ever the manufacturer. I would take it to a repair man and get a quote, maybe its cheap fix maybe its worth just getting a new one.

HOOKED UP MY NEW TV WITH COMPONENT CABES TO THE DVD. THE COLOR IS PINK. CABLES ARE NEW. I KNOW I HAVE THE COLOR CABLES MATCHED CORRECTLY. COULD IT BE THE CABLE OR DVD.

The problem is that the tv is set to 480I or 480P. Try changing the setting to 720P or 1080I and the pink color should dissapear.

Bad color

Chances are it is the connector on the "lvds" cable where it attaches to the lcd controller board. Detach the connector and clean any glue or tape residue off of it with isopropyl alcohol or electronics cleaner and then reattach it.

My picture has a green and blue hue to it.

After spending a day trying to fix the TV, I found out the problem was actually with my cable box. I have an HD DVR recorder. We unplugged the cable box and plugged the TV directly into the cable in the wall and it worked. So we took the cable box back to our cable company and got a new cable box. (Can't live without the DVR!!)

Bad picture

Sounds like a dry solder joint. When the tv is on for 4/5 mins the crack warms up and the gap spreads. When you turn off it cools and when it warms up it starts again.
