Water leaking from water dispenser

We have been getting a random drip coming from our side door water dispenser. It drips at a pretty quick rate. Sometimes it will stop on its own after dripping 8 oz or more. Sometimes we have turned off the water source. When turing it back on the next day or so, it will not be dripping but eventually will begin again. Haven't determined a pattern.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Turned water off at the source and then back on. Leak came back after a few hours.

I have the same problem. In checking the parts list, the only water valve it shows is for the ice maker. Are the 2 valves combined into one unit? I have model ED5FTGXKQ01

We had a leak happen after replacing the filter for the first time on our Whirlpool Side by Side. On page 19 of the Whirlpool Side by Side Use & Care Guide it says air in the lines can cause this problem. Drain about 10 glassfuls of water from the dispenser to get the air out. When you do this you notice that it stops sputtering too. Maybe that could be causing your leak too. Hope so. davis972

The freezer door leaks water from the water/ice dispenser. The dispenser fills up with water. Items in the freezer door almost seem as if they never freeze. All items in the door are much less frozen...

Leaky dispenser-------
Your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is probably leaking. disconnect the water line coming out of it and see if you have a slow drip. Try the dispenser to see if it's just drips after use.

Water dispenser leaks on model number KSRS25FGSS13. I HAVE FLUSH THE AIR OUT AND IT STILL HAS A VERY SMALL DRIP

Probably replace the water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in. Disconnect the water line to the dispenser there and see if it keeps dripping when you try the dispenser.

The ice and water dispenser on my Amana Refrigerator slowly leaks water. Are there repair parts to correct this? And how is the plastic frame containing the dispenser removed from the door?

The problem is most likely not in the door. When the dispense button is pressed it actuates an electric solenoid valve in the rear of the refrigerator that opens and allows the water to flow. Over time the valve seals get worn and the water seeps by. This is what usually causes a drip at the water dispenser. If there is a drip at the ice side then the door is jammed and is not closing fully. This allows the ice at the opening to melt and drip. Hope this helps. Please accept and rate. Good luck.

ice maker - If it overfills and drips, look for an adjustment behind the plastic endcover with a +/- on it. - is less water.

If it continuously drips, replace the water inlet valve on the back where the house water supply comes in.

Water Dispenser Drips

Had the same problem after replacing over seven water valves and installing a water regulator in the water line to the refrigerator with no help. Had to reduce the water pressure to about 27 pounds the reduce most of the drips. It drips an amount about the size of a quarter and when the water gets the coldest it stops the drip, but there is always a droplet at the end of the water disperser tube.

The problem is with water stored in the refrigerator side of the box. Water come in and does not leak. After the water gets colder it expands and oozes drips from the water dispenser. It is worse with the roll of tubing behind the crisper drawer on the bottom, because there is no room for expansion in the tubing. We replaced the tubing with and older style tank and it helped some, but not completely. The solution is 1. Try to buy a refrigerator with a tank instead of the roll of tubing in the bottom of the refrigerator side. 2. Don't use the water dispenser. 3. Reroute the tubing directly to the water dispenser and bypass going into the refrigerator, the water will not be as cold. 4. Avoid those built by Whirlpool.
