  • Melinda Henderson Feb 18, 2008

No thank you. We got a service tech in and he fixed it for $334aud, it was the switch that shorted the PCB out.

I have the manual here post your email and I will send it to you here are somethings to check in the mean time

12 OPERATING PROBLEMS
12.1 No Power
If the machine appears dead, and there is no response from pressing the power button, then check
the following.
Check the supply voltage and that the machine is plugged in and switched on.
Remove the lid and the console.
With the power supply isolated, physically check all the plug connections to the Motor Control
Module.
With the power supply switched, on check all voltage readings as described in section 6.
Prior to replacing a Motor Control Module, check all resistances of the components as
described in section 7. We also recommended that a visual inspection of the motor and pump
area be carried out. Check for corrosion and signs of water leaking as well as damage that
may have occurred to any of the wiring harnesses.

Hoover condenser dryer plug fuse blew

Crackling certainly doesn't sound good. How many days past warranty.

Contact them, " 2 weeks ago my washing machine stopped working, I was going on a business trip, and couldn't do anything about it. I checked the fuse and it had blown. I replaced the fuse and it still doesn't work. When the machine failed it was in warranty, please come and fix".

If not, the most likely issue for 'crackling' would be the control board or the motor, leaning slightly to the control board as it has no power visible to it. A failed motor would have power to the board, but nothing happening.

Why won't it turn on?

Must be power button or the programmer then, you will need a repair person to diagnose from here.
Of the quote for repair is high consider a new machine. I have found that once a device breaks it may be the start of a habit

Check the circuit breaker in your fuse box has not tripped, if it has reset it.
Check the fuse in the power plug.
Try plugging something else into the power socket to see if that wirks.
If the wall socket/outlet has power you should get some sign of life from the washer even if it is only lights.
This should , hopefully, allow you to open it

Power will not turn on. Tried unplugging for 60

unplug the unit and open the back cover of the washer. Locate the fuse which is located in side of the power cord. Open the plastic fuse holder and replace it with same value.

Lost our power and now it won't turn on.

Yes , usually you will need the manual to know how to replace it
In my experience the fuse blow due to something that is electrically faulty in the unit and changing the fuse does not remedy the issue. You may have a power supply issue that a reputable service tech will have to determine if it is malfunctioning in this area.

Help! My fisher paykel washing machine won't stop filling up!

If the water continues to fill even if unplugged the water valve is sticking and needs replaced. if removing power turns the water off the water level pressure switch is bad or there is something plugging the sensor tube somewhere.

My sony receiver tuner wont turn on. It was working fine yesterday now it wont power up. The fuse near the plug wire inside is good. Any suggestions

Fuses almost never go bad something causes them to blow. Even when a blown fuse is found in electronics just t replacing it can cause more damage if something caused it to blow, a repair person looks for bad parts before replacing a fuse. Only microwaves are known to blow fuses and replacing the fuse fixes it. About the only thing that people can do is unplug a short time and try it again. And need i say is the power outlet ok.

Power outage this am. Wii won't even turn on

Usually, after a power outage, a power spike (when the power returns) can disable/blow the fuse in the AC adapter for the Wii.

Try the following steps in this order:

FIRST:
- unplug the Wii's power cord from the wall, and leave it unplugged (from 5 mins. to 5 hours). Then, plug it back into the wall. (Unplugging the power cord from the back of the Wii will not help. You need to unplug the power cord from the wall.)
- This usually helps reset the fuse circuit in the AC adapter, and your Wii should work again.

SECOND:
- open the panel on the AC adapter box in the power cord; since the screws are proprietary, you will need to creatively use existing tools to turn the screws
- check the 3A fuse in that box; if it looks blown, then replace it

THIRD:
- it might be cheaper to replace the AC adapter with another one

FOURTH:
- get the unit repaired

MUST DO:
- buy a SURGE PROTECTOR power bar, and plug all of your expensive items into it (to prevent this from happening again).

Hope that helps!
