Frigidaire front loader washer emits a horrible order. It is not mold. It is NOT constant. We have all new plumbing and it drains outside and does not have any obstruction on the drain. Bleach was used yesterday and the order started AGAIN this afternoon. HELP
There's usually about a gallon of residual water in the lower portion of the wash tub, drain line and pump between wash loads. This is NORMAL. If you are in the habit of leaving the door closed between washes, this water can become stagnant. If you are experiencing sour odors from the washer, the following link can give you some pointers on things to try to help keep the smell from coming back:
Odors can also be caused by using the wrong type of detergent, causing soap scum build up, and from small articles of clothing caught in the rubber folds of the door bellow, or in the drain lines.
Read through the link provided and let me know if you still have problems. I personally own a front loader and have followed this regiment for 9 years now with no odor or mildew problems. I hope this helps you.

In order to keep all front loader washers from smelling and developing black mold make sure you leave the door open when not in use. If it is allowed to dry out between washings the smell and the mold will be squelched. You can also leave the dispenser door open also to dry out.
Front load machines have smell issue. There is a cleaner made for this purpose, get some and run it through routinely. Apparently, all front loaders have this issue...
this could signify that you have the outlet hose to far down the outlet pipe of the machine, or if you have it plumbed in to the plumbing under the sink you could have dirty sink water flowing back into the machine
You have an inner and an outer tub. The outer tub may be holding too much water. The smell may be the soured water in the outer tub. You should take the washer outside and drain it completely. Then replace the drain hose before you put it back inside. Hopefully, this will slove your problem.
have you cleaned the main waste pipe as this surpisingly enough gathers a lot of gunk and in warm weather makes it smell,i say this cus we expeirieced this and i replaced rather than cleaned the waste pipe, worth a try it worked for me,rgds paul
sorry no recalls on fridgidaire front load,,there pretty good units,,the mildew and slugg comes from not using he or low suddsing detergent..now dont move so fast ,,because a new spin basket may not solve your problems with noise..check that back tub bearing while you have it a part..now that unit is fresh and new ,,clean the unit every other month with bleach..hot wash cold rinse,,that will keep suds slug and smell out unit...onthejob
hate my duet sport also! You cant presoak in this machine, very little water to wash with, very noisy, and everything stinks when it comes out of washer. Mine also smelled like mold but i figured out if you pull out the little tray that holds the detergent it is filled with stinky black mold. would never buy again
Have you tried using detergent HE (High Efficientcy) for front loaders? I had this problem and changed over to HE Detergent (Tide) and it solved my problem. Good Luck
only mold causes this, so u are wrong.
