By a receiver do you mean a set-top box? If so, what type of output connections does the set-top box have? What type of input connectors does the projector have, and are you using any adaptors?By a receiver do you mean a set-top box? If so, what type of output connections does the set-top box have? I tend to use the VGA cable. Once connected, switch the laptop on until you get to the desktop, then switch on the projector. Some will see the signal, if not, simoultaneously press your FN and relevant 'F' key to send the signal out to the VGA. You may need to do this 3 times, once to send to projector, one to send back to laptop screen and then once to send the signal to both projector and laptop screen. Sometimes this can take a short amount of time. You may want to change the projector settings to the VGA input so it doesn't constantly search for a source. If you still have problems, go into properties on your laptop and advanced. you m,ay need to unclick the box saying 'Extend to..........' (You should find what I mean from this, I am in front of a pc therefore the settings are slightly different.)
I will investigate the problem you are having and get back to post a comment momentarily. If you can describe the yellow cord for me a little better. Please describe the connectors on both ends for me. I will post back soon with a proper hook up.
This is likely a problem with the receiver not the projector. If the setup screen from the receiver is displayed through the projector, then the projector is functional. If the actual signal is not displayed, then the receiver is not sending the signal. The setup screen is generated inside the receiver and is injected later in the video path than the input signal. Try a direct connect from the signal source (other side of the receiver) to the projector. Again, if that works, then the problem is the receiver.
After half a day of tinkering around with my new Acer I fixed my problem, which I think is yours also. I connected it to my notebook, it read the signal 'D-Sub' or something like that, and after my notebook finished startup, it reverted to no signal. I tried it with my desktop and it worked just fine. The display will only show up on one output device. It worked fine on my desktop because I was unplugging my monitor in order to hook up the projector. Hooking the projector up to my notebook left the display panel still active and that was where it displayed. In case I'm not making sense, the solution is this: After setting everything up, hit Control+Alt+F1 to switch display from your screen to the projector. To switch back, hit Control+Alt+F3
Hi Drtrippy, If I understand correctly, you are using your VCR for the actual tuning of the TV.
The converter box itself contains a tuner, so you should now receive extra channels available only to an HD tuner. You should try connecting your antenna as input to the converter box. Then output the signal from your converter box to the VCR.Your VCR may then remain connected to your projector.
You may simply think of this as if you are inserting the converter box between your antenna and your VCR, which should be currently connected to receive an over-the-air signal.Remember, as the tuner you will be using is in the converter box, you will need to change channels using the converter box, not the VCR.
1-SWITCH YOUR PROJECTOR OFF. 2-CONNECT EVERYTHING AS NORMAL CONNECTION. 3-SWITCH DOCUCAMERA ON. 4-SWITCH YOUR PROJECTOR ON. 5-CONFIRM THAT INPUT OF PROJECTOR IN RIGHT INPUT TO CAMERA. 6- CONFIRM THAT CAMERA CABLE IS GOOD BY PLUGING IT IN VIDEO INPUT OF ANY TV.
