TV DOES NOT TURN ON.
GREEN LIGHT ON BUTTON IS BLINKING FOR EVER OR TURNS RED.

It very well could be the ballast. I unfortunately have this tv and keep extra bulbs because they go out about once a year. Last time when I replaced the bulb the tv blinked and the red lamp light flashed like it does when the bulb is bad. Ballast repair kit fixed it up. This is certainly a design issue but you'll get no help from Panasonic. If tv comes on the goes out after a while, clean the fan filter.
When this happen on my tv, it means that the HID bulb is blown. If you get a new one, make sure to get the OEM bulb from Panasonic. Other bulbs I've tried omit a strong burning smell that does not go away over time.

Your service manual on page 82 steps you through decoding the blinking
1) there are two lights on the front near the reciever of the remote signals (Temp indicator and Lamp Indicator)
2) If the Temp indicator is on then they recommend you contact a service center
3) If the Lamp indicator is on and the power light stays on (no blinking) then you need to replace the lamp. Otherwise it says to contact the service center.
4) Counting blinks with the lamp indicator (1 every 5sec - lamp will not light or is abnormal, 2 every 5sec - lamp voltage is abnormal, 3 every 5sec - lamp temp is too high, 4 every 5sec - other error)

Hello,
I replaced the bulb in my PT-50LC in November but I can't get the TV to power on. The power light flashes green - slow at first and then faster. Eventually the power light turns to red and continues to flash until I disconnect the power. I pulled out the bulb and it looks like brand new. Anyone have this same problem?
I replaced the bulb and the TV will still not turn on. Green light flashes and then the red light flashes for a period the turns solid red. Cannot seem to find a solution.

Light on power button blinks green then blinks red. No picture. Fan runs continuously.
Green light blinks for period then turns to red and blinks, then solid red.
It goes black on screen, starts flashing red , both on, off and a small light on control panel.
After 10 min. you can hit start and it flashs green for3mins and comes back on.
Green light blinks forever. Just got a new bulb replaced a week ago and it worked fine for the one week!

green light goaes on blinks for an undetermined amount of time, then blinks red, and the lamp indicator blinks. Bulb replaced a year ago, with a panasonic, checked bulb still looks good. Any suggestions?
Same here! Just recieved brand new bulb and replaced it carefully. Tryed to turn on the TV and the power light turns green and flashes slowly a few times, then faster for about 1 minute or so and turns red. No picture at all. And as far as re-setting the hour meter. I should have a video picture to do the re-set right? Thanks for any help!
TV just turned off. Green light blinks for quick some time then turns to red. Red light blinks alllthe time. No picture or sound.
