How to speed up laptop

all things low even not using the internet or is only internet slow
or just 1 app. like AAA game $70 loaded. and run.????
google it, huge list of ways if not slow new.
top causes are..... by age. OMG IS this upgraded to VISTA OS?
HDD old and slow or bad.infected OS, XP is a virus magnet here. ram full, delete apps that waste ram or buy more RAmHDD full or near full.CPU overheating run CPU_Z to see if is.Cure 1 is upgrade top SSD? yet?Most DV are dead now. due to CCFL backlamps dead. so upgrades have no future (reason for this line)a 2006 PC I think and is rare now in working shape. yours with screen working is a "Kodak moment"?<< old saying but funny.
my dad would have said get the puppy bronzed.

run CCleaner, free
empty out startup files
remove apps not needed, << use Revo_uninstller, free.

Web pages are always very slow, no matter how I clean up internet options.

1. First of all back up the Data that you require on either DVD's or Thunb Drives / External drives.

2. Do a clean format, for that you would need the OS CD and make sure that yr Optical drive is working.

3. Steps to do OSRI (Operating System Re-Install) are different from OS to OS.

Slow running

if it freezes when you run any software then its a normal problem of that software else you have to reinstall window sometimes it freezes because you didn't change window for a long time that's why you must ought to reinstall it

3. Add RAM on your computer. More RAM will make easy execution of heavy programs on your system.

4. Get better and speedy internet connection. Talk to your ISP in this regard.

5. Regularly clean windows registry. Windows registry is vital place that stores information for important computing functions. A congested or corrupted windows registry makes computer slow that causes YouTube like freezes. For this, get the best registry cleaner reginout and optimizer. Use it once in a fortnight for fast computing to avoid YouTube freezes and system slow down.

Emachines T3302 can't open programs

If the programs have freezed, it might be due to a hard drive problem. And if all the icons disappear means explorer.exe is encountering a problem. Did you do a virus scan recently? Check your hard drive also.
You can check your system with these two online scanners.
Bitdefender
Kaspersky
Download one of them. These are the current best AV suites available for desktop products.
Right click on the taskbar and get the Task Manager
Go to processes. In the menu, select View->Select Columns->Add a tick to Virtual Memory Size.
Then expand the Task Manager window and Check the VM Size. It might be one of the reasons caused the freezing. Check which application use VM the most. By adding more Virtual memory will prevent this, if this is the case.
Otherwise Right Click on My Computer icon and go to Manage. Then from there go to Event Viewer. Under the category of System and Applications you can find related errors. Check them.
If you come up with those data we can guide you more precisly
And coz its old better do a cleanup. Defrag the hard drive using control panel. Do a disk clenup by going to properties window of each partition. Do a physical cleanup also. Remove dust and any loose connections.

there is many issues that can cause pcs and laptops to run slow removing programs probably wont help that much you need a cleaner program like ccleaner or auslogics boostspeed which is a good one! www.ccleaner.com or www.auslogics.com/en/software/boost-speed

well i think your husband is right. it might be three years old, but the sligtest damage can kill it. so what you need to do is start saving up for a new tv. sorry for waht happened. maybe somebody hit the screen?

Here are some suggestions: First of all . Do you have an anti virus installed on your husband's machine ? Viruses can slow the machine and even kill it permanently ( so be careful) . Just install an anti virus and you'll solve the problem . If you are already have an anti virus , then just run a full system scan and watch what will happen and follow the recommended steps that will be given by the anti virus [ There are a lot of anti virus softwares in the market ] but if you suspect that your system is already infected i recommend you to use (Avast professional edition) because it can make a boot scan , that means after you install it , it will ask you if you want to make a boot scan , just agree with it and it will reboot the system and start a boot time scanning , meanwhile you should watch it and give it the right orders if it detected a virus infection . Here is another suggestion : There is a certain software you could install it . This software can help your machine and detect any problem on your husband's computer but viruses . this software is called (TuneUp utilities) . You can download it from here www.tune-up.com . just try it and you'll be satisfied with result . if that didn't help just contact me again and i'll help you as possible as i can .
