Make sure you are threading it correctly. Typically it's from right to left.... or lower looper, upper looper, right needle, left needle. Barring that look carefully at the loopers for burs. If you find any use some fine sand paper and carefully file them away.

SOURCE: my white speedylock serger 1634 thread keeps getting in knots

i have the book and it says thread from inside out, inside looper (upper) then lower, then thread the needles, first right then left.  I have found that it does not matter if you thread the needles or loopers first but that you should try to thread from inside to out.

SOURCE: I need an Elna Pro 5 DC serger machine Owner's Manual

The original manual is out of print and all that is available now is photocopies and they cost about $15. Let me know if you still need it and your zip code so that I would know how much postage would be.

I have a elna pro 5 dc lock why does the no 4 thread not stitching when done it just pulls out I gave not got a manual please assist thank you so much

The 5-thread model has an 'extra' lower looper. Probably something in the threading path is off and the only way to correct this is to pull all of the threads out and rethread them in reverse order: 5-4-3 and then the needles.

Elna Pro 4De serger thread breaking

Be sure to thread each in the ORDER specified--for most machines (but yours may differ) upper looper, lower looper, then needles. Follow (closely) the threading diagram on the machine. Missing one guide or hitting the guides out of order will throw you machine into a tizzy! On my serger, the lower looper has to lay over the top of the upper looper/thread before it all gets pulled under the presser foot toward the back of the machine.

It also may help to RAISE the presser foot when threading the machine.

I have an Elna Pro 4 DE overlocker and the thread keep breaking - I have re threaded a number of times now but the thread keeps breaking - it was working fine earlier today - what could be the proble

Try different thread (black thread seems to be more problematic because of the heavy dye). Perhaps, change the needles.

When you re-thread, do you completely remove all the thread and start from the beginning--there could be a snag somewhere or the thread is looped around something, ie the thread tree? ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot when threading. Give each thread an extra little tug when going through the tension disk--it will sometimes make a little snap sound when it seats. Also, make sure you are threading each in the order specified. Threading out of order will generally guarantee a problem.

There is a slight chance something (thread bits, lint) could be stuck in the tension disk.

If it continues, you may want to take it for service as it could be the timing is off.
