Because you can't directly copy and paste movies from your computer to a DVD. You need a DVD copy software like Leawo DVD Copy. It is a powerful DVD backup tool for people to back up their DVD contents with ease. It's capable of backing up DVD disc, folder and ISO image files. It can remove DVD disc protection thus allowing you to back up whatever disc you like freely. You can use it to back up your DVD disc to either your hard drive or a blank disc or directly copy ISO image file to a blank DVD disc.

If its a XVID movie or dvdrip it won't play on a DVD player unless the DVD player has the DIVX label on it, like phillips brand DVD player that has a DIVX label and a usb drive. then you won't have to burn to DVD, just put it on a thumb drive or external hard drive that's a fat32 configured then you'll be happy as a lamb.

Really LOL LOL LOL LOL you aren't suppose to be downloading movies but none the less. If you download a movie for burning it on a DVD then playing it on your old DVD player. you have to download the image, it has the .iso extension or the 4 gig size, which takes about a week to download. 4 gigs is pretty large, then you have to load it on a virtual drive, then you have to run it through a dvd shrink program then allow it to burn to DVD then your ready.

The movie you had downloaded is in AVI or divx format ....for that you need to have a divx enabled DVD Player.......
If your dvd player does't support DivX format .... it won't play it..
Try running that movie in DivX enable DVD Player

Tevion Dvd player won't read burned cd's or dvd's.

Transfer your .avi movie files onto a USB stick & simply plug them into the Tevion DVD player.
Select the usb button on the remote to activate & choose which film to play from the menu that pops up.
Good luck!

It want burn any movies that are downloaded. Liteon model LDW811S

Hi,

if it,s only downloaded movies, that won,t burn/Write.
I,d assume that the downloaded content, is Copyright Protected.
Other suggestions Are:- your CD/DVD Burner does not support the types of files, that are being downloaded. You could try a Video Converter Program. Or alternatively. Change your DVD Burning Software.

I download free movies to hard drive, than I burn them, and my dvd player says no playback available or a big red x shows on tv screen, what am I doing wrong/

You probably have burnt the dvd disc using a video format that is not compatible with your player.
A lot of DVD players will not play .AVI or DIVx files that are commonly downloaded.
Your DVD player manual should list the formats it will play.
Convert downloaded movies to a compatible format before burning to disc.
There are several conversion programmes available via the web - at a cost of approx $50.00.
AVS4U works ok.
