Problem could be with your motor, timer, or lid switch. The front panel is tabbed you can remove it with a paint scraper. sounds like you have already removed it. You can cut the two wires to your lid switch at the top right its magnetic and bypass them to eliminate the lid switch. Other than that you would have to get the schematic from behind the control panel and check for proper 120v. down to the motor windings. the new motor will come as a rework and wiring must be done if you have proper voltage down to the motor. It will come with a new capacitor so you will need to read the instructions carefully. In my opinion if its a bad motor I would junk the machine and buy a whirlpool direct drive.

Hope this helps _MJ_

Wont agitate or spin everything else working

hi Paulmahoney.
If your washer fills with water but doesn't agitate, the problem is likely to be a faulty lid switch, a broken belt, or a problem with the motor. (Note: Direct-drive washing machines do not have belts.) To diagnose the problem, do the following: 1Check the washing machine's spin cycle.

Check the belt on the drive system to the motor.if the motor is working the belt might be broken. If the belt is intact it could be a relay to engage the belt drive.

Washing machine GLWS1649ASO wont spin on spin cycle. motor and pulley turn, but belt doesn't move. Is it the belt?

no it will not be the belt more so it will be a bad transmission.or something stuck under the agitator i have seen drill bits and keys get stuck under the agitator and cause the transmission to stop
remover the agitator first and check it is there is nothing there the transmission needs to be replaced

Wont agitate, drains and spins though.

Hi,
Try these out:
  1. Test the lid switch
  2. Inspect the motor coupler
  3. Inspect the drive belt (belt drive only)
  4. Inspect under the washer for soot (clutch)
  5. Test the motor
  6. Inspect the pulley
  7. Test the transmission
  8. Inspect the agitator
  9. Inspect the pump coupling
  10. Test the water level switch

Kenmore washer 80 series 110 model not spinning.

unless your washer is over 20 years old, then it wont have a belt. the temperature of the water wont have anything to do with it spinning or not.
need to know if it agitates or drains and just wont spin.
if it agitates but no spin or drain, then you have a bad lid switch.
if it wont agitate or spin, but will drain, then you have a broken drive coupling.

Amana NAV2330 Wont Agitate or Spin

i would assume that perhaps you did not wind hte belt correctly arround the legs of the pump and therefore are not putting the correct tension on hte pulley(remember to hook spring back up to tension idler?)
