I can´t connect my ada8000 in my edirol ua 25. I use cubase. when I open a track I can only choose the audio inputs but never the digital in. How to do it?
The ada800 gives out 8 channels of ADAT, the edirol UA-25 are only stereo opticals and not compatible with the ADA8000 as it does not have any adat inputs or outputs.
Hope this helps

Midi is data only, there is no actual sound to the midi tracks themselves. They need to be assigned to either a software synth or an external synth to actually make the sounds you want to hear.
For instance if you load a demo of a midi sequance you will need to add a software synth such as the TTS-1 or Roland sound canvas which are general midi compatable and will play the instruments sounds assigned to the demo's midi channels. Use the Synth Rack feature in Sonar to open one of them. Then you will need to assign the output of each of the midi tracks to that particular synth and you will get sound. Make sure to assing the synth's audio track to you UA-25 as its audio output.
I would suggest reading in the manual and following the tutorials included in the manual to get yourself familier with how this is all done.
I am using a laptop for my music
creation and I am thinking about using an External Sound Card connected
with a USB cable or getting an Sound Card. My integrated
sound card has a little bit too much latency. Will I have just as much
or more latency with the External Sound Card because it is connected
with the USB cable or would I be better off with the Sound
Card? Thanks for vinu plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz help me sir.
This interface works fine with other hosts but with cubase is more tricky. But you can fix it.
You need to disable the onboard sound card, also use the UA25 Asio drivers, go to programs/Steinberg cubase/ ASIO multimedia setup and you should see the UA25 outports are active and that the sync ref "YES" also that the UA25 Input ports are active. the next bit is a bit of fun select the Advanced options and select Detect buffer size, when thats finished select Check Buffers and Sync, press the start button and the test will run,if everything is ok you should have zero "Sync lost" and zero "Buffer lost" Depending on how lower you want to get your latency , you may have to tweek the UA25 driver settings and re-run the setup above.
1.make sure the guitar/mic switch is pointed to the guitar side. increase the guitar/mic level. increase the output level.
2.another thing you can do is check the "sound and audio devices" to see if everything is set to Edirol UA-4FX. If everything isnt, fix it so that it does. and remember to disable your computers stock sound card. Edirol UA-4FX is your new sound card from now on.
3. if thats not the case, try reinstalling the drivers.
4. If all of the above fail, you probably have a loose connection/ bad wiring in the guitar/mic 1/4" input. you can choose to open up the device and solder that yourself and possibly lose your warranty or have the entire unit replaced.
Hope I helped! good luck!
A computer has line out and that means sound out from the computer to your speakers.
A line out can also be connected to a recording device or a pair of speakers with an amp built in.
Line in on a computer can be used to record audio from other equipment such as a Dj on his decks to record his set.
It can also record audio from mp3 players etc.
Line in can be used for mic's and also you can use mic in as well.
To record any audio onto your computer use line in.
Line out can also used for headphones and the mic will plug into mic in so you can talk online.
Sorry, i'm new to the UA-25 as well, but from my understanding, if you are using a digital signal device and it is connected properly, that indicator should be steadily lit.
IF you are NOT using a digital signal device and it's flashing, it's because you have the button pressed when you shouldn't have it pressed unless you want your sound to loop through the computer and come back to your headphones.
