I have a RICOH 2020D And have been using at netwok twain driver to scan documents. This was not an issue untill we went from XP to Vista. now its like it can not find the device. I had already had to configure the hosts and the config file for the twain driver. I know this is not the issue. I belive it may be a firewall issue however our firewall settings do not log the errors anyone know what ports the twain driver opens?
Re: I have a RICOH 2020D And have been using at netwok...

You can download for free the scan twain on www.ricoh.com.
Or you can add users and creat paths to do scan-to-folder (i think it is easier and work better)
If you do not know how to do it reply to me or post a new question.
See you!
u got to unscrew the scanner a bit and arange the adf left or right depending your line position. the adf is not positioned perfect on the machine , and at the end it scan the adf back , thath is the line come from on your scanned document
From reading around, there isnt one....But i found this post
I've just installed a Mustek 1200 CU scanner on Vista.
I used the XP driver from the Mustek website.
You have to temporarily edit the registry to make the installer think you have XP
In regedit, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Cu rrent Version Find the "product name" key. Carefully record what it says before you start. (eg paste it into a document somewhere).
Then change it to make it read: Microsoft Windows XP
Then run the Mustek XP installer, and change the registry key back to saying Vista.
The scanner works fine in Photoshop, for example, but the Vista scanning wizard doesn't detect the scanner. Don't think it uses TWAIN?
You first need to have the HP software that came with the printer installed, and the most up to date drivers will also help make sure there aren't any compatibility issues.
Once you have that set up, on the control panel on the printer itself press the arrow buttons until you have Scan selected. Press OK. Press the RIGHT arrow to choose what you'd like to do with the scan when it's finished and press OK. Then press the START button.
You can also start a scan from within the program provided by HP with the printer, and many graphics editing programs and word processing programs (such as Word) have a Scan button. Sometimes referred to as an Inport from TWAIN Device or Scan from TWAIN Device. Simply clicking on one of those buttons usually starts the needed program to control the scan from on the computer, instead of using the buttons on the printer itself. (NOTE: The TWAIN device options are sometimes inside the Edit menu of some programs, so you may need to look for it a little.)
Visit the Ricoh download site and download the latest driver. This will ask you if you wish to overwrite, say yes. Hopefully this will replace the corrupt file.
Try adding the scanner's IP address in the scnhosts file in the TWAIN folder. Format is similar to the windows hosts file. You'll see a commented out sample entry, just modify that to suit your needs.
This may or may not work for you; we had it working under this configuration but then it stopped for no apparent reason. also note that scanrouter isn't supported under vista. Only advice I've been given so far is to revert to sending scans via SMTP - not ideal!
