Universal remote suddenly does not work w/television.
Universal remote suddenly does not work. It is not the battery. It's been checked, and the remote lights up when pushed. TV works fine. The remote just doesn't seem to work with the TV anymore, as of a couple of days ago. Help!

I have very good luck with the Philips universal remote. The model number of the remote is SRP1003/27. I would suggest you find one the next time you are a a large discount store. The model number is near the upc code. Thanks for asking and show all hands of support!
Remove the batteries, open your remote clean the pcb (with cotton ball slightly damped in rubbing alcohol) the one that is painted green as well as the carbon contacts the one behind the remote pads, let it dry and put it back, replace with a new batteries.
Check ur universal remote manual for ur tv codes.Re enter ur tv model universal codes.Ur remote should work again.Try website like 1-800-Remotes factory original.Buy an exact remote to ur tv original remote.Never care for codes agian, because u have the original remote.
All you need to do is unplug your television and plug it back in 2 minutes later. After you plug it in, try to use the remote to turn it back on and see what happens! Good luck to you
Since you said that the remote that originally came with the television does not work either, it's most likely a problem with the IR sensor in your television.
To make sure that something more important with the television did not fail, the next time this occurs, walk up to the television and attempt to manually change the options using its controls.
original remotes of the unit don't require codes. check the battery, otherwise try using universal remote where codes are required for different models
Hi, First thing, turn off the TV and unplug it for about 2-3 minutes. Remove also the batteries on your remote. Re-install the batteries on the remote and plug in your TV. Power on your TV using the remote. No luck? Norcent may not be supported by a universal remote. If you just bought your unit new (maybe Best Buy who carries this brand) you are still covered by its warranty. Below are ways you can reach Norcent. http://www.norcent.net/main/contact.asp 909) 305-2121 [email protected]
Remote problem could arise from either tv or remote. First check your universal remote on some other tv and if it is okay your tv's infrared sensor has stopped working. You can get it from the local component shops, take the existing sensor with you. This problem could be from the micro processor in rare cases. Best of luck.
It appears the remote sensor in the Television itself has stopped working. If the TV is still under warranty I would try to contact the manufacturer to see what they can do for you. Can you still change channels manually? If so, this is most likely the case.
