E machine monitor turns itself off and on

I will hear a click and the monitor will turn off. And then after a little bit, it'll click and turn back on. It doesn't stay on for more than a minute. This just started happening and I don't know where to begin checking for a solution.

The same thing happened to me today. I was just sitting in my room then i hear a click and the cpu is on it stays on for a while then cuts off. It then cuts on and off with few seconds in between. It then stays in that way cutting and off for about a minite or two and then cuts off completely. A few minutes later it starts again. Also in the time it its off it will not turn on by pressing the power button. Sometimes it completly boots up by itself and then shuts itself down. If I shut it down manually while its on it'll turn itself on immeditaly after. What's going on! Will the warranty cover it? Do I need a new computer?

I have an emachines E181H TFT LCD monitor and a few months ago it would turn off at random and would come back on.After a few days it stopped turning off by itself I have had no problems till recently,...

After a while LCD monitors develop problems that are usually caused by faults in the internal circuitry. This could be an issue with the power capacitors failing. If you feel confident enough, you can remove the back cover and check to see if any capacitors are bulging or leaking. (Give it at least 24 hours unplugged to allow the capacitors to discharge before doing so). I found THAT little bit of knowledge out the hard way

The monitor (Gateway FPD1975W) turns itself off after a couple of seconds. I have tried rebooting a number of times - same problem. When I turn the monitor off and then on again it works for a second or...

This sounds like the monitors power supply is failing. (if the monitor is truly right off) Use a flashlight to verify the back-light is not just the culprit. If you can see faint image in the monitor with the flashlight, then this would point tothe LCD inverter is failing. Its most likely the power supply board within the monitor itself. Typically It takes 3 35v 470uf capacitors to fix and a little patience to get apart. Do a bit of googling on "replacing the caps in a FPD1975W" and youll see what i mean. Cheers.

Urgent problem with my relisys monitor, please help!

sounds like an overheating problem. you can try blowing out the back of the monitor, or putting a fan close to it. If it is really dirty it will shut itself off so as to not get damaged. is it crt, or lcd?

The power switch does not switch (no click)

Unplug the monitor from the power
Unplug the monitor from the computer
Plug the monitor back in.
Try turning it on.

DOES IT SAY "NO SOUCRE DETECTED" or soemthing like that???

if it DOESN'T it means there is something wrong with the computer.

if it DOES:

plug it back on to the computer, turn the computer power off.
Press and hold the power button on the computer for about 15 seconds.
Plug the computer back on.
Try turning the computer on.
if it's not turning on again there a problem either with your monitor cable, or the plug, or the video card plug. It is unlikely that your video card is broken if you hear no wired series of short and long beeps when you try turning the computer on.
Good luck.

OSD main menu pop-up will not go away

Please try to Turn the monitor off. Hold down the Menu button while the monitor is turned off, then press the Power button again to turn the monitor back on. This should unlock your OSD menu and remove that message from your screen. best regards

Thinkpad lcd wont come on

Hello, It may be the power is set wrong. Click start, control panel, power options. From here you can set the amount of time you want the monitor or hard drive/s to remain on until the shut down or go into hibernation. Hope this helps.

No speaker volume

Hey Mate, being honest weve sold alot of TFT monitors and most are hard to hear with all the volumes turned up, only thing you can try are. turn volume up to max on the monitors menu, also double click on the little speaker icon on the bottom right hand corner of the screen and a volume menu appears turn up WAV, & the main one on the left. if you are not getting any sound at all check you have the audio cable from the monitor plugged into the green connection on the back of the pc. Afraid thats the only options to get it louder or buy a set of speakers to get the sound louder. All the best John
